I have a cvpi that is spawning both an up and down spotlight at the same time on the driver side door, is that a vehicle.meta issue or a carcol issue?

What some modelers do is make the spotlights extras so people can choose what they want by toggling one or the other on and off. Just go into whatever trainer you have and mess with the car components.

Not using a trainer and using the model on a fivem server which uses the meta files. I assuming I can just figure out which extra it is in the carvariations.meta and turn it to false there. But would rather figure out why it is trying to spawn 2 extras at the same time.

The game just spawns extras randomly, it obviously cant tell that the two certain extras shouldn't spawn at the same time. The only way to stop it would be to change the carvariations as you said or use a trainer if the server you're on allows it. 

The only way I can think of to make it not spawn at the same time is by using the same system that police and sheriff use with their two light bars. Check the flags in vehicles.meta.

Yea found it in vehicle.meta deleted flag_livery_all. works like a charm now. Sapwns just one copy of the spot light instead both at same time.
