Dazed & Confused ELS Vehicles do not appear

Gentleman..

I am somewhat Comp lit. however I am new to this whole modding world, so please forgive my ignorance. after following Readme instructions, I still do not see the ELS Vehicles I loaded into OpenIV. when I look into openIV the cars are there yet when I load LSPDFR I am not seeing the vehicles. the pack I loaded was some of the CHP megapack. please advise

Did you properly edit the dlclist and add in this pack?

In Open IV, mods / update / update / common / data.  Extract "dlclist" to your desktop and open it.  See if you have:

 

<Item>dlcpacks: \lspdpack\</Item>

 

If you don't have this line, add it in.  Save, then click "edit mode" in OpenIV and drag in the edited dlclist.  Click "edit mode" again and you should be good.

pardon my ignorance but, is this the right location? once I extracted it, there was nothing in those folders.

Your second screenshot is correct. :)  Check and see if that line is there.  If it isn't, refer to the steps in my previous post.

I do not. those three folders are empty

Once you've added in the line I mentioned, the edited file goes back to mods / update / update / common / data.   Remember to click "edit mode" before you drag the file in, and edit mode after.

I'm slightly confused.  You're making this its own DLCpack, but you've named the cars based off the POLICE, POLICE 2, etc slots.  If you're trying to replace vehicles, your best bet is using the very latest patchday.  If these are supposed to be standalone, you need to rename them to something else such as POLICE5, SHERIFF3, FBI3, etc.

Kallus I fixed my error in openiv, went and replaced the fbi2 with unmarked chevy Tahoe, added sheriff3 followed youtube CHP mega pack ELS tutorial I I still don't know what I'm doing incorrectly

Now you've confused me, lol.  You said you fixed it.  What's the issue?

for some reason I had two gta v folders I relocated one to another drive, then I deleted the mods folder, then recreated a new one added the update file to it and inturn that removed the dlcpack lspd folder, clearing up the way for my patchday folders to now be seen in openiv(they were not showing up because of the incorrect gta v folder). so now I have a clean mods folder. went through the steps to reinsert ELS and a ELS Vehicle, as in my pictures I replaced the fbi and I added the chp as sheriff3. they still do not show up.lol

Hopefully this is the problem:

Did you install OpenIV's .asi's? To check, go ahead and open OpenIV, and go to the top and look for this little symbol: http://prntscr.com/fzv8p5

Click on that symbol, and make suer you have "ASI Loader" and "OpenIV.ASI" Installed.

I personally use Patchday11ng to install my vehicles, however instead of installing your vehicles to patchday2ng, I suggest installing them in to a more recent patchday, like patchday15ng (Which should be the most recent.)

As to your sheriff3 vehicle, installing add-on cars is a very interesting process. I suggest learning how to install replacement vehicles, and making sure they work, before going ahead and doing add-on cars. Of course, you are you and can do what you want, just my suggestion. If you do want to do add-ons, go ahead and search up a youtube video to learn.

 

In short, perhaps you putting the fbi2 vehicle in patchday2ng is the problem. Like I said, try putting it in a more recent patchday. And no, you do not have to restart your computer for any changes to take effect.

He is correct.  Only the very latest patchday that has a vehicles.rpf will work.  The other patchdays used to work, which is why a lot of older vehicles say "patchday3" and what not.

The title of your mods folder need to be in all lowercase. :)
