Can we get some damn backup?

Featured Replies

Come on man you got me going to an armed robbery call, but expect me to be the only officer to show up?

Officers should be dispatched automatically for calls like that. User discretion can be allowed for other calls but NO cop is gonna solo a robbery call. Come on. Takes the immersion out when I show up, have to spam code 3 backup, and they all show up not knowing wtf is going on. Dispatch them and have them know what to do (like when they go after guys in pursuit mode).

Any modder able to do this? Very annoying otherwise. Earlier I responded to an officer shot and was the only guy to respond lol. get real.

Pretty much every call should have at least 2 officers show up, purely for officer safety.

What would be incredible to see is calls that are actually fluent with variable possibilities before we get there. I personally hate the callout strategy of the call being completely static until an officer gets there. Take the armed robbery call from your post for example. In my ideal version of the mod, the following could happen:

1. Call comes in of armed robbery, choose to accept it or not

1a. If you choose not to accept it, 3 units are dispatched to the scene. Call may escalate to shots fired/pursuit which would be another call out (Feature may be turned off in order to save performance).

1b. If you accept, get location and 2-3 units are spawned and respond to the location as well, sometimes they arrive at the location before you, some times after. Also a chance that you link up together and respond together (Still believe the coolest feature ever in LCPDFR/LSPDFR was calling for backup after placing a waypoint at a call, then responding behind another unit)

2. Arrive on scene, in which the following could happen:

2a. Suspects in store, shootout ensues.

2b. Some one running on foot away from the scene with a handgun

2c. Clear the store with the backup officers, get a description of suspect/vehicle from witnesses.

2d. Suspect gives up.

2e. Hostage situation

A similar flowchart for all calls would be incredible.

Sticks and stones may break bones, but 5.56 fragments on impact.

If you use the Custombackup plugin the AI that respond are somewhat more intelligent than the standard LSPDFR backup. I use Custombackup for any on-foot backup scenarios and the standard LSPDFR backup for vehicle pursuits (because the Custombackup plugin is lacking in that respect).

That's not the issue here though. I created a forum post a few months ago to PNWPARK saying that you should have a set of AI officers that never despawn unless they die so it could be more realistic. Sadly, AI is not at that stage yet. Online LSPDFR is really the only way
