Gta5 won't launch at all!

Hello everybody, so for whatever reason my Gta5 won't launch at all! No matter what I start it through (rage, steam, the .exes' themselves). A little window with the lady in a bikini (as seen in the loading screen) will pop up for a few seconds saying the game is loading but it never does. After a few seconds that window goes away and steam will say the game in running but nothing ever pops up. I have installed no new mods that would have caused my game to do this. Please help! If any further information is needed I will be happy to provide it, thanks bye!

Has the game previously worked fine for you, or is this a new install?

Hello, yes this is a new issue, not a new install, and the game has worked previously for 8 months. And since I started this thread I can now get gta to launch directly through steam, but not through rage.

Have you made any changes to your game recently?  Also, what operating system are you on?

No, no recent changes and I run windows 10.

In this thread it tells me to go into my windows setting and find something called "game bar" where can I find this?

Launching the game through rage, about 2 days. I played gta without rage like 15 minutes ago. My issue is I can't launch gta5 with rage.

In your main GTA V directory, please see if ragepluginhook.txt/.log was created.  If it was, attach (don't post) the log to your next reply.

The last time I was able to play gta5 with rage was yesterday, here is my log:

I apologize for the delay, something came up.  Is your GTA updated to the latest version?

I am running a backup by rage, because the current version of gta is unsupported.

With your game previously working, and this just starting, I can't help but wonder if something updated at some point, either with your game or your computer.  It shouldn't just randomly stop working.  My initial thought is that it's something with your Rage backup, but I'm not too sure.  Does the Rage logo open at all, or no?

Actually an issue with my backup would make sense. When ever I try updating rage it asks me to convert my back up to the new format. I tell it yes and it always crashes when doing so. And the only thing that pops up when I try to run gta with rage is the Rage logo that tells me it is booting the game, finally it says "waiting for window" but it gets stuck there.

If that's the case, I don't think anything can be done, unfortunately.

 

In the future, this method has worked flawlessly for me.  It's how I'm still on Rage .47.
