RPH Not Starting With Game

Recommended Posts

This is what happens every time I try to start up my game with RPH. I've tried to get support for it however, nothing really seems to work. I've tried disabling anti-malware, free it from the firewall, allowing all permissions for my user as well as administrators, and its just very complicated.

My old PC would run it just fine, but after that one failed and I bought this one it hasn't worked. I've checked to see if anything with mods had to do with it but, its not. I've verified this by removing all mods on GTA V which mostly consisted of callouts, then that didn't work. I decided to uninstall the game, then reinstall it only adding RPH and that's the current version of GTA V that I'm running and its still not working.

As you can tell I'm currently running Windows 10 Home and I'm not sure if that has something to do with it at all, but just thought I'd put it out there. Here is a picture of my GTA V Directory if anyone wanted to see it:

Any help would be appreciated. If you need any more details about anything please be sure to post it below.

EDIT: GTA V runs fine on its own and will work normally. I've also tried launching the game first then RPH and that has not worked either. It seems as if the GTA V game session is not being recognized by RPH.

Well, to start I'd really advise that you don't show the product code for your GTA...

Second, have you tried checking "Don't show this message again"  when the product code prompt comes up? i had a similiar problem when I first got GTA.

I'm not worried about that. If anyone wants to use the code they can.

What version of RPH are you using?

When you start RPH, can you go to the Settings --> Game Settings --> Command Line switches and tell me what you have checked?

All all that is checked is force windowed mode, and ignore different video card.

Go into the windows start menu > settings (with the cog) > "Gaming" with the Xbox symbol > Record clips, screenshots and broadcasts using Game Bar -- if that is on, turn it off. If either of the check boxes underneath are checked, uncheck 'em.

Now, go into "Game DVR", >background recording, turn off "Record in background while playing a game" if "Recorded Audio" is on, also disable this. Leave everything else in this tab untouched.

In the tab "Game Mode" if "Use Game Mode" is on, disable it. >>> Restart computer<<< try booting everything up as normal, and then report back. Good luck!

This did not work. It's very odd.

As a result of RPH not seeing my game launch I also get this error.

GTAVLauncher.exe failed to start.

Please try again. If the problem persists, please restart your computer.

This happens when you start RPH, exit it, and start it again too fast. Very odd problem that you're having.

I would like to point out I'm using Windows Defender as an anti-malware and that won't let me add exclusions. As said above. I'm running Windows 10 Home.

I'm going to assume you've met all the required stuff on this page: https://ragepluginhook.net/Requirements.aspx

You need all of the included stuff on that page, the visual C++, Net Framework, etc etc. If you don't, that is a good place to process eliminate. I ask because you mentioned that you got another computer, which could explain some of the issues.

It may also be beneficial to completely remove any sort of mods, or really any previous stuff injected by mods -- including but not limited to LSPDFR. Remove all components of LSPDFR, and anything else that has nothing to do with bone stock GTA V.  Once you've got a fresh vanilla GTA V directory, use the 'manual install' version of LSPDFR on here and instead of adding everything from the manual install folder, just add LSPDFR, then add RPH's files from the 0.55 version of RPH separately.

I've had prior issues with loose files from old downloads and outdated versions wreck havoc on an otherwise simple install process.
