Performance and Frame rate stutters

Featured Replies

Greetings whom ever may stumble upon this. I'll keep it short and simple, the title should be self explanatory. but for some reason when ever i'm playing, there will be these major frame rate drops in performance. Some have even resulted in game crashes, but mostly remains frame drop and freezing. I realize this probably isn't the best place to be asking this, but other options have failed, majority being a straight up scam. I now look forward to the community of LCPDFR/LSPDFR to attempt and assist me in any way possible to get any progress in playing my game at a decent frame rate, with little to no issues. my PC Specs are as follows:Screenshot_89.png.4f0039149276952718b4ee6c28289a47.png

Graphics settings?

Logs?

Full PC Specs? We don't know your graphics card or PSU.

How old is the PC?

Is the environment dusty or hot?

How much clearance is their around the PC

I hate to be difficult but these are small basic things. And honestly, you answering  our questions will help you get it solved quicker. But here are some steps for now:

1. Re-install graphics drivers (for Nvidia drivers: Nvidia method)

2. Restart PC

3. Monitor your temperatures using OpenHardwareMonitor (extract all contents of the download to a folder and run OpenHardwareMonitor.exe as administrator. Key temperatures are RAM, CPU and Graphics Card.)

Please ask if you have difficulty with any of the above or have new questions

Good luck

Temperatures need to be monitored inside the PC as well. It is never obvious.

We need full screenshots of your GTA 5 settings.

1. Install GeForce Experience / Nvidia share (Google)

2. Take the screenshot (ALT+Z = settings)

3. Upload to imgur.com

4. Link here

Use full screen instead of Windowed Borderless.

Also, right click on desktop, click Nvidia Control Panel, click Manage 3D settings, then Program Settings (or the tab next to Global) and find GTA5.exe

Then scroll down in the box and change VSync and Triple Buffering to on.

Then apply in the bottom right

You need to get more ram, what's happening is that GTA is trying to access more memory and since there is limited amount of ram the game takes memory from your storage, causing those huge stutters. Especially since you are modding too, you need to get 8gb more of ram. Some report the game vanilla takes 10gb alone :/

I can say from personal experience that have stuttering too - constant fps drops and the game freezing for as long as 10 seconds - no fun. I also looked online for "fixes", like pagefiling, Nvidia control panel, etc and non worked of course.

If you really want to be sure if its a ram issue, download nzxt cam (don't use MSI afterburner, it crashes in GTA) once you downloaded use the hardware and fps overlay to see how much ram is being used. If the usage goes above 4.4gb (Max allocated ram for programs alone), you need more ram.
