I have tried everything I can think of! Every time I launch GTA V normally it works perfectly. Every time I launch it through Rage Plugin Hook, it goes through the motions and as soon as the game window opens and the Rage logo drops to the bottom corner, the game crashes. I have searched the community for threads about similar issues and I have tried all of the solutions I have found with no success. I have gone as far as to uninstall my copy of GTA V, clear out the whole folder, and then reinstall the game then just Ragehook and LSPDFR. Still nothing.

 

I have tried running Ragehook as an administrator. I have verified that all of the .dll files were unblocked. I have verified that I am on the most recent version of Ragehook and LSPDFR, and Ragehook says that my version of GTA is supported. 

 

Today I downloaded and verified that these were all installed on my pc:
-Microsoft .NET Framework 4.6.2
-Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 SP1 Redistributable Package (x64)
-Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015 (x64)

 

Still has the same problem. I don't know what else to try now.

Also, I don't have a pic of any crash reports because I haven't figured out where to find it, although Ragehook doesn't ever come up with any messages saying that it has crashed, so I'm not entirely sure if there is a crash report.

 

Any  help or insight would be much appreciated!

 

 

Go into your logs folder and copy and paste the one with the correct date and time into a spoiler and post it here, please. Also, I see that you have Avast. Add GTA 5 to the exceptions in settings.

I added my GTA V directory to the exclusions list in Avast and sure enough the game launched no problem. Thank you so much!

And ended up finding this topic. Hopefully this will make people find this thread in the future. Its your Avast (or Update) preventing Rage to "hook". Thanks guys!

Can confirm this works. I initially ruled this out as it said "game mode" was running
