Crashing on Loading Screen

Featured Replies

Hello everyone. I been trying to get this to work for almost 5 days now, I have try just about everything, This is all what I have done. Its a clean Windows 10 64x, No virus scanner, Windows Defender is turned off,  I have up to date: System Updates, Graphic Drivers, I have the up to date GTA5 944.1,  Rage Plugin Hook 0.50.1044.10171, LSPDFR 0.3.1, I ran the LSPDFR installer first then ran RPH removed the SDK folder and made sure none of the files were blocked. There are no options check under RPH settings. Every time I would launch Rage Plugin Hook I get the black screen and immediately it crashes, I tried disabling Direct X Hook. It worked but didn't load LSPDFR plugin. I tried the other options as well and still crashes I followed the 30 step Requirement that's listed in the forums and I get nothing. I would've went to RPH with this why they still haven't yet sent me a email to confirm my account to use the forums.

I'm lost if anyone can Please help me it will be greatly appreciated!

Do you use Avast? If so go to General and look for Exclusions and add your GTA V directory as an exclusion. The latest Avast update seems to be behind it.

I currently don't have a Virus scanner, I saw that too many people were having issues with it so I didn't bother getting one.

When RPH does its requirement check I got green lights across the board I been fighting with this for just about 5 days now, I don't know what it could be its a fresh and clean install of windows

Try running game first, then run ragepluginhook as administrator while the game is running in the background

If disable directx hook worked, could you try that again, and then push f4 --> reloadallplugins?

Already tried that it crashed right away, I tried disabling direct x hook it loads but F4 doesn't work I don't even get the blimp of the police stations my best guess it didn't install the plugin I pretty much tried everything under the sun :(

I tried to load RPH when it was half way loading right before you got the option for storymode, I try it even when I was fully into the game

EDIT: It seems like Avast! is running in the background.

Make sure you add GTA V to avast's exception list.

Also, if that doesn't work, there's a slight chance shadowplay might cause issues with directx.

Are you running any other software in the background, like FRAPS, TeamSpeak, or Action!

When you disable direct x hook does the ragepluginhook logo appear in the bottom left corner while the game loads?

I don't know what Fraps is but I don't think so , No video or audio programs are installed other the my graphic card, I even disabled all overlay options in steam Windows Defender is turned off

You say windows defender is off, but are you sure you don't have ANY other anti virus like Avast, AVG. Bit Defender, etc?

I need donations to help fund my food addiction. DM for details 😂

I'm 100% positive it's a fresh windows only thing that installed is window updates motherboard drivers and graphic drivers, GTA5 and RPH & LSPDFR and the files that are needed

Ok this is funky I was reading a post about the register how the value name was wrong so I took the GTV at the end of it and it wanted me to reboot now it came up but its frozen at Loading storymode with the big RPH in the middle of the screen. I'm gonna ctl-alt delete and rerun it see if it happens again

Ok for the second time it went all the way thru, It probably froze last time cause I minimized my screen while it was loading in but I'm gonna explain what registry I changed  I opened HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432NODE\Rockstar Games\GTAV (Registry Name InstallFolderSteam (old)Value C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Grand Theft Auto V\GTAV  I just took off the GTAV and restared PC. Now it works fine

I wanna thank you guys so much for trying to help me and spending your time :)

It'll sometimes get hung up, happened to me. Check to make sure you actually have th c++ files downloaded. One way to make sure is to download albo's troubleshooter. It doesn't need to be in your root GTA V directory. What I do with this file is just create a new folder on my desktop and extract the files to it.

Once the files are extracted just select "Albo1125's troubleshooter" if it tells you you're missing the 2010 or 2015 c++ redistributsble package you'll want to try to install just the redistributable package through Microsoft's website. Restart your PC after installing the packages. Then rerun the troubleshooter. If it still says you're missing one of those packages you're going to have to install one of the  free versions of Microsoft's visual studios. (Currently, that's the only way I've found to get around it)

Restart pc again and rerun the troubleshooter. At this point it shouldn't say anything about the redistributable packages anymore. Close the troubleshooter then do what myself and TheForecaster said and edit your command line for -scOfflineOnly. At that point run your actual GTAV.exe file, load a saved game, go to settings, then go to the startup and launch menu (at the very bottom of settings list) I can't remember what it's called but select the first option to off so you can select the second option on that list, which is load single player only.

Save the game and exit, from there you can try starting rage and see if it's fixed. If it still doesn't launch make sure you actually select in your AV to exclude GTA V and the LSPDFR installer (even if your anti virus software is off, it can still block the files from correctly installing.) At that point, try to reinstall LSPDFR. Once you go through the setup, install the most recent Rage Plugin Hook. Launch rage and it should be working at that point.

Of course, that's just going off of what you posted on my thread earlier how you think we have the same problems. Everything listed above is exactly what I did to fix my problem so if our problems are similar, this should get your game working again.

I apologize for the wall wall of text, just hoping our problems really were the same and we can get it working for you.

No worries I really do appreciate all yours help, I just cant believe it was just something as small as changing 4 letters out of the registry,  I did try every thing you have mentioned, Albo1125's troubleshooter actually was a big help, I like that program the guys smart to make something like that

Now I just hope when I put my mods back on it doesn't mess anything up, Then it will be time to catch so crooks :)
