Trouble starting the game

Featured Replies

I bought GTA IV about 4 months ago and played it with no trouble. I uninstalled it due to boredom, and today I reinstalled it when I came across this mod. After installing the game and successfully installing the mod, I am unable to start GTA IV. The command prompt comes up, but it says "Grand Theft Auto IV has stopped responding". The problem seems to be something called BEX with the GTAIV.exe file. I don't remember if I patched the game before installing the mod, so at the moment I am attempting to reinstall the game. Does anyone know any other ways to fix this if that does not work?

While I am here, I am also having a bit of trouble connecting my account for crime stats. I had made this account with Facebook, only to find it a bit difficult to link the account. Is there anyway to do this?

Thank you for your time.

BEX is all over the place...I have found a few solutions.

1) try patching to the right version

2) uninstall, delete, COMPLETELY REMOVE quicktime from your system, reboot

For crime stats, you link your LCPDFR account to the game not your FB

Thank you for the suggestions. I am currently trying the first option, but as for the second, I don't think I even have quicktime installed. I did have Internet Explorer 9, but I uninstalled that after reading that it caused crashes. Unfortunately, that did not work.

As for the account, I created the account with facebook. When I try to log in with my display name, it doesn't work. I am only able to log in with facebook.

Yes, you cannot attach crime statistics to your FB account. Instead, create a new account here at LCPDFR.com and do link it to that.

NOTE: It takes up to six hours for the crime stats to update, so your pursuits or whatever won't show up immediately.

When I try to create a new account, it won't let me. It just says that I am not allowed to have multiple accounts.

well that's as far as I can find solutions. Most of the topics go back to 2009

hrm..that might be a bug with the site, You might wanna report that to the LCPDFR.com section of the forums. IE? EWWWWWWWWW IE is a hard bastard to get rid of...I only have it to download other browsers...

I found another topic that I took part in back in October 2010....on gpm....

So, I'm using a steam version and I am experiencing the same problem. Its steam so its definitively at the latest version. Any idea what could be the problem? It gets to when it says: "Loading- The cousins Bellic" then it goes black and crashes.
