Just got my gaming computer the other day and this is all new to me. I was able to get ragehook to work but now when it comes to installing something like the CHP mega pack it seems to get really difficult. Some how I need to do something with the RPF file on step 1 but the only way to open it is if I use a app that I have to pay for? I'm not sure if I'm even doing any of it correctly. And while I'm at it can someone point me to the thread that lists all the plugins that give you the complete lspdfr experience. Thanks!

You don't need to pay for anything to open the zipped files. Download a free program like winRAR.

 

Unfortunately, there's no list of all the must have plugins.  It's a player by player thing.  It really comes down to how you want your game.  Browse this sites downloads section. Look at cars, plugins, scripts, callouts, etc and choose how you want your game to be.  You can also look for mods over here - https://www.gta5-mods.com/

 

Now, in regards to your vehicle problem. Make sure you're using a mods folder - http://openiv.com/?p=1132

Hi thanks for the response. Ive downloaded Open IV and I try and direct it to the gtav.exe or whatever but whenever I go to the common folder all of that isn't popping up. I'm looking on youtube and everything. I've modded games before but nothing this big so this is really confusing so bare with me please lol

What do you mean "all of that isn't popping up"?

when I open "openIV" it says I need to select the folder where gta5.exe is installed but when I go to steam<steamapps<common< it doesn't show:

In OpenIV, go to tools-->options.  Now click the "Game" tab and see if you can manually set the path.

ok I got it to work. Now to get the actual car pack installed.

yea I think I accidently changed the RPF file that wasn't in the mods folder is this going to mess my game up? I didn't know I had to copy to mods folder then do it.

It's not a huge deal since all you did was replace vehicle files.  Your game should still work fine, but I do advise deleting the files you placed.

I may have broke something? lol ragehook was working earlier but now when I click to start it says the current version is not supported.

Look in the lower left of Rage.  Does it give a version?

Did you delete those cars?  If so, try putting them back in.  Maybe that was an issue.

no I didn't delete the ones that aren't in the mod file because I didn't know if I needed those? is there a way to put the original car file back. i'll try that though.

You can check the other patchdays to see if they have the files, but if they don't, the only way to get them back is to reinstall GTA.  However, as long as you do have some "POLICE" (or whatever the name of the files you replaced were) files in there, it'll be fine.

its either that or I installed lspdfr wrong. fml I'm probably going to have to reinstall and try again.

Was LSPDFR working fine before? or had you not went in game to check?

I haven't tried yet because I wanted to get the vehicles and police radio and all of that installed first.

Ahh, okay.

 

Try one thing for me, please.  Launch GTA V as you normally would and go in game.  Once you're in and loaded, alt tab out and open Rage. What happens?
