Make firetruck use firetruck siren in ELSV

Featured Replies

Alot of people including me seem to not know how to make the firetruck use the firetruck siren, but thanks to @Iggy Fresh i've found out how to do it!

  • First of all go into OpenIV and go to (mods)/x64/audio/sfx/resident and right click the vehicle.awc and export to openformats.
  • When you've done this open up Modern siren pack for example and find a firetruck siren like the EQ2B siren.
  • Rename the firetruck wail to ''AMBULANCE_WARNING'' and drag and drop it into the ''vehicles'' folder you got by exporting the vehicles.awc and overwrite the current ''AMBULANCE_WARNING'' Then import the vehicles.oac into OpenIV again.

Last step is to edit the ELS VCF files.

  • Start of with opening the .XML file and set the ''SrnTone1, 2 and 3'' to false keeping only ''SrnTone 4'' as the only option, which is ''AMBULANCE_WARNING''.
  • Then for the other .XML's set all ''SrnTone's'' to ''true'' leaving only ''AMBULANCE_WARNING'' to ''false''.

So when you're done the .XML should looks something like this

@Slendis Great! Now I want to know how to use the FBI siren in ELS-V. Or at least in my case to use the CHP siren (wail & yelp) along with the LAPD siren.

Plus, I want the CHP siren is produced regularly from start to finish like it's show when you open the audio file with Windows Media Player or something else.

Thats not possible.

@Slendis OK I got it. But at least can I put the CHP siren using the AMBULANCE__WARNING (wail) and POLICE_WARNING (yelp)?

@Maxmov Did you put the CHP siren (wail or yelp?) on AMBULANCE_WARNING? Is the sound produced regularly from start to finish of the audio file track in ELS?

Yes. But the AMBULANCE_WARNING will not play from the start.

This is only a temporary and very messy fix. Here's to hoping ELS will get an update soon with all the siren tone hashes cracked because I really need them! I also wish there was a way to force the AMBULANCE_WARNING and POLICE_WARNING tones to play from the start!
