Featured Replies

Quick question i have the latest gta version...wheather i install the latest rage hook plugin .50 or even .49. GTA V will load but i will always be stuck on an infinite loading screen. i have the latest script hook and i even tried to remove all plugins but yet i still get stuck on the infinite loading screen. Please could someone assist me or is anyone else experiencing this problems. i could post my log if that helps?

Update your update.rpf file or whatever it is....That's what's causing your problem.

how? and where do i go to get the latest 'update.rpf' file?  cause my gta V is updated to the latest update and wheather i use ragehook 49. or ragehook.50 i still end up stuck on the infinite screen

I'm not at home, so I don't know the exact folders. You can take it out of your main GTA directory and replace the one in the modded folders. I'll have to find it when I get home. You will need to reinstall your mods though (not plugins, just cars and stuff), but that fixes the infinite loading screen.

Yes, your logs would help, and did you try opening the game without Ragehook to see if you had an infinite loading screen still?

If your game crashes even without Ragehook, that means the files of your game got corrupted. Which means you failed the installation of a car mod or something like that. So the solution is to delete your mods folder (that you should have if you followed the many tutorials on the internet) and start the game again without Ragehook to see if it works. If you don't have a mods folder or if it keeps crashing, then use the repair function (if you've the retail version of the game) or the verifying game cache function (in your game properties on Steam) to fix it. And if it still crashes, enjoy the reinstallation.

Just future reference, spoiler tags help when having a long post.

Sorry it took awhile to get back to you, I had a busy day yesterday. As stated above, you should have a mods folder. If you don't, you're either going to have to get the update.rpf file from someone else, or do a complete re-install of the game.

Update.rpf is found in the "Update" folder in your main GTA directory. Copy that and go into your mods/update folder where the modded update.rpf should be. Paste the original (clean) update.rpf file over the modded one and that should fix your issue. In 100% of instances where I'm stuck on the loading screen, it's because of that. Hope it helps.
