Max Payne 3!!

Featured Replies

Hey people, so I basically picked up my copy of max payne 3 when it was released 4 days ago (US) and its absolutely amazing. I think Rockstar really took the time to map out every detail with every gun battle. The weapons are plentiful and amazing as well. You can damn near dual-wield every gun possible! Another aspect that they added that was not included in the other series was multiplayer. They've done yet another awesome job with mutiplayer and we all know we can thank RDR (yet another awesome game) for that!! Just want some other opinions on the game itself? They have the 2 previous max paynes for cheap on steam, so if you've never played the series, play it!

Yeah it's definitely amazing. I also picked up a copy on the release date and was just blown away at how much detail was added to game and the physics. I can only imagine how GTA 5 will be with the same game engine. GTA 5 is gonna be epic!!.

When it comes to being competitive in this age of game developing I find its the details that make the difference in games from going from good to great.

You know I wasn't really impressed with MP3. I thought the storyline was great, it followed suit with the Noir sense of the Payne series, but I found myself watching cutscenes more than I was actually playing. Although the cutscenes were stylistically created in a very gritty manner, I also saw that it was not really as refined as I was hoping it would be. There were times when textures popped into view, or even a few occurances of missing textures (liquid in glass, and other fine details) which honestly is inexcusible from a developer the caliber of Rockstar.

I was also hoping for some better enviornmental sounds as far as gun sounds, ricochets, etc. I just think a lot more could have been done from that perspective to enhance the enviornmental experience of the game.

Physics was also an area of concern too. Which I understand is one of the hardest things for a dev. to work on. But I the physics of the glass breaking, ragdoll also seemed a little off too. It would have been nice to see the mapping of how a entity reacts based on where you shoot it. Again, I know thats extremely hard to map out.

I know I pointed out a lot of really small things but I just was left hoping for more from rockstar on this... anyone else feel the same?
