"Stopping ped" stops working?!

Featured Replies

Hi Everyone - I'm having an issue w/ LSPDFR and stopping peds once they exit their vehicles. I thought maybe once I updated to the most recent RPH and game version the issue may be resolved but it isn't, so here I am.

I will have peds exit vehicle and then when I press "E" my character goes to open the rear door of their car and/or yells at them but no matter what I do I cannot get the "stopping ped" action to perform. The only way to arrest the ped is to pull out my gun and make them get on the ground. Is anyone else having this issue and is there a fix?? I did a search via google and the site search function and could not come up with anything relevant. Thank you.

Use Albos arrest manager you can use the Ped Manager to arrest instead.

I have Arrest Manager installed. Sometimes I don't want to arrest, just ask for ID and such. Is no one else having this issue? The stopping feature will work 1 or 2 times and then I can't get the menu to come up again unless I reload all plugins.

Its done it for ages I believe, I dont think there is a way to ask for there ID when it stops doing it (apart from a traffic stop), the way I do it I use Patrol Toolkit it doesnt ask for an ID as such but it through the menu its checks there ID.

This has been an on going problem since 0.3 was released. Only the LSPDFR devs can fix it, but I haven't seen anything from them regarding fixes. If you look in the RPH console and see something like:

AC

CA
0
1

The stop ped feature has broken. If I'm honest this bug is pretty much a game breaker IMO because you have to rely on multiple other scripts which only arrest people or ask for ID separately. If Albo's arrest manger had a release function and ask for ID (when outside of a traffic stop) it wouldn't be such a big problem as I highly doubt the devs will be releasing an update for LSPDFR anytime soon.

Having the same issue about ready to uninstall the mod because of it gets really aggravating and ive tried everything I know to do even deleting my modded gta 5 folder completely and starting over and still did not help.

If you reload lspdfr via the rage console, it works. (i keep meaning to try just reloading arrest manager plugin to see if that fixes the issue, if it does it shouldn't affect callouts, names etc).

Yeah - that's usually what I'll do. Reload plugins when I'm not in the process of doing anything. It's a bit annoying tho. I could have sworn RPH 47 and 844 worked without problems tho. I may go back and see if that's the case because I still have both the old versions saved on my pc.

you can arrest then release and it works again but still no fix

This is actually a pretty good fix and it seems to cure the problem for the duration of the game session without having to reload plugins. I'll usually start a patrol by arresting a random ped and then releasing just for the sake of the fix. Thanks for mentioning it @vynlthrash

I will have to try this and see if it works. Do you stop and arrest them or arrest them at gun point?

The feature is not broken and I use it all the time, including on patch 944 and RPH 49. I have noticed that sometimes it is a bit touchy, and if you're not in the perfect spot, it won't activate. It definitely is not broken. And yes, if it's not working for you at the time, you can always aim at them with either a gun or flashlight and arrest them and then release if you're not keeping them.

One thing that has stopped working for me though, and I can't pinpoint between what patch and RPH it happened, but I can't use the right d-pad button to interact on a traffic stop anymore. I have to press E. It's not a big deal, just a nuisance, but I don't know how to fix that.

The standard stopping feature will work one time for me, basically the first time I do it and then the rest of the game sesh I can only perform the "hard" arrests. Unless I reload plugins or "catch and release" as explained above. I'm on 944 and 49 so you must have a "lucky" copy of the game, lol. There are a bunch of other forum threads that talk about it being a lspdfr issue but the "catch and release" method is an easy enough fix for the time being.
