This is a workaround for the Application Error:

DO NOT say the fix did not work for you because you use windows 7 or vista, the video was made on a windows 7 computer and runs GTA flawlessly until i screw it up

Exception EFCreateError in module DSOUND.dll at 000116C5

Cannont create file 'C:\Program files (x86)\Rockstar Games\Grand theft

Auto IV\asilog.txt'. Access is Denied.

OR

Exception EFCreateError in module DSOUND.dll at 000116C5

Cannont create file 'C:\Program files (x86)\Rockstar Games\EFLC\asilog.txt'. Access is Denied.

Step 1: Right click your GTAIV shortcut, OR LAUNCHGTAIV.EXE in your gta folder

Step 2: click run as administrator

Step 3: ????

Step 4: PROFIT

ALTERNATE AND RECOMMENDED WAY, PERMANENTLY AVOID THE ERROR AND that pesky UAC that always asks "are you sure you want to put this file here? I can't allow it unless you say so"

Unlock your GTA Folders

Well when I have been at this since 2010, have been though a dozen versions of LCPDFR and since patch 1.0.4.0, countless mods, have a tech reputation that is some what well known in the GTA modding community, least on LCPDFR and whats that other site called? it's name escapes me? Oh right..the one that bans people for little or no reason and harasses every one with a staff roster of immature children. I have been around the block a few million times ^_^

I know m8. But hi say im tired of them, then hi dont need to help them if hi dont help them from heart. Hi dont need to read what folks say if hi is tired of all noobs like me who dont knows how to do thing. You know what i mean?

If i know much about how to do that how to do what then i wil help with my heart. Not elp them and later say im so tired of them.

.....not possible...If you did as it said, You shouldn't get the EFCreateError what exactly is popping up

sorry your right the efcerorro dosent shuw up anymore now it when i click on my icon to lanch gta it says gta as stop running and then it says thats its seaching ways to fix the probleme but nothing pops up and the it says end the programe

then you have an underlying issue perhaps you didn't update to 1070?

just download this http://support.rockstargames.com/entries/484496-grand-theft-auto-iv-patch-7-title-update-v-1-0-7-0-english-1-0-6-1-russian-1-0-5-2-japanese and extract the files to your desktop, then run titleupdate.exe

HI pierluc , you can get new car by google , try searching it . btw you need to replace the wft.wtd and ivaud files in order for your mods to work. and you need to download sparkiv or openiv . either one will do

You can get cars here in the download section, you can youtube a video on installing car mods into GTAiv, you'll need spark IV and Winrar

This fix doesn't work for me, unfortunately. I'm using Windows 7.
