Massive FPS Drops

Featured Replies

 Hey.

So by the title it's pretty much self-explanatory. I can't manage to play LSPDFR on 40+ FPS which is really stressing because it comes along with frequent FPS drops. So, if I get in pursuit or even by responding Code 3 to a call my game stutters. I've researched a lot and nothing I do seems to work. In case it helps in any way, yes, I do have a legit copy of GTA I bought through Social Club (Not Steam). Something that's somewhat odd is that I used to run LSPDFR flawlessly, the minimum FPS could be around 50. Whilst in singleplayer mode, I could've gotten around 85, but now I dropped down low to around 30 fps with LSPDFR running, and around 50 without it. So, yeah. Any help will be really appreciated. Here's my specs.

Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-6400 CPU @ 2.70GHz

GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070

RAM: 8.0 GB

OS: Microsoft Windows 10 (build 14393), 64-bit

I'll be waiting for your answers, thank you again!

A lot of FPS drops has to do with mods... actually all of the fps drops have to do with mods. Without mods, I can run GTA V with 90+ frames. With just a few mods (Ive limited them since last update to help keep frames) i would be lucky to get more than 65. the only thing you can do to try to get frames back is remove some plugins that you dont use - Because the CPU Heavy mods + RPH = Frame Drop.

No, not at all, many FPS drops can also be related to a hardware issue :)

Well he said he got around 85 without mods, which I have an i5 6600k, gtx 1070, and 16 gb ram, and I get 90+, so its clear his hardware is not the issue. Plus he never mentions that other games lose fps or anything that would indicate hardware failure. My bad, i should have added "In GTA V"... guess i wasnt clear enough.

LSPDFR and plugins/scripts have always caused performance issues for me. I run GTA 5 by itself with around 80fps. I get a maximum of 60ish with very frequent drops to as low as 30. I have got use to it as LSPDFR is so fun to play and I enjoy it. I thought I was having unexplained issues but it is very common for people with high performance hardware to have issues with scripts. I have a pretty good 1080p set up with an i5 4590 and a GTX 970 and 16gb ram.

Read the Readme's and mod pages, don't be stupid.

Try taking out GTA comes alive and see if that helps.  I know it hurts my FPS.  GTA comes alive is full of random events.  So it constantly tries to spawn things around you.

Please feel free to check out my straight to the point LSPDFR TUTORIALS / LSPDFR GAMEPLAY

It doesn't start automatically, gotta run it manually with the console.

(Won't let me post without merging) Edit: Alright well, it seems that I've just fixed it. Upon wandering around the task manager I found out there's a process that brings my memory and CPU almost to 100%. I was suggested to install Malwarebytes, so I did, and it looks like it got rid of it. I can now run GTA V with LSPDFR at around 40-50 FPS which isn't as good as the first time but I can't say it's way better. It's a pretty odd thing, as I did not experience any FPS drop on my other games... Very strange thing. Whatsoever, thank all of you a lot for your help!
