Hi there LSPDFR devs! I had a suggestion that I believe many people want.

Right now, I am very hesitant to leave a review on a mod unless I am giving it 5 stars. The reason for this is that I cannot change my review or rating after I have submitted it. I feel this is a huge problem. The whole point of reviews is to let others know how good a modification is, but also to let the creators know that they need to work harder (or that they're doing just fine)

I want to propose two things:

  1. That we are allowed to update our rating | This can be useful as modifications change and so do our feelings about them
  2. After a review is made, next to the "helpful" indicator should be what version of the mod the review was left on | This can save so much stress as a creator. People looking at reviews can get a bad taste for a mod if the top review happens to be from the first version, but nobody will ever know if the review was for an earlier version or the new one (granted, they can look at the dates and cross-check that with the latest update date... but people are lazy). If they could see what version it was left on, they can actually decide properly to get the mod or not

We already had that reviews showed the version in the past. This was something made by ourselves. It was removed as there was an incompatibility with one of the later updates of our board software and we didn't have time to fix it.

The ability to update your rating is something we're wanting to do too, but right now there is no development time for the website as there are other projects in the pipeline.
I could give promises here but quite frankly there might not be any time for improvements to LCPDFR.com until next year.

If this is something our board software vendor (IPS) implement themselves, then you could expect to see it sooner.

Fantastic suggestions though - and don't doubt these are things we're wanting to see ourselves.

I assume the answer will be no but just to cover all bases, is there perhaps an option to allow users to remove their reviews?

As of now, you can report your review and request for it to be removed. I have done this in the past.

I think this is an option in the software, but for moderation reasons we haven't enabled it. Unfortunately it would leave no trace if somebody left an abusive / otherwise rule breaking review and deleted it before a moderator could handle it.
