PS3 Not Connecting to TV

Featured Replies

I can't seem to get my PS3 to hook up to my Samsung flat-screen via A/V or HDMI cables. I had disconnected the PS3 for about 6 hours and plugged my laptop in, if that helps. I've tried unplugging the TV for ten seconds, plugging in HDMI after turning TV on, etc.
Interesting thing is I've unplugged it and plugged it back in loads of times before (even after plugging my laptop in) and it worked. This is the first time this has happened.

I don't understand the point of signatures on this site. What the fuck is the point?

This may be a dumb question to ask but is your TV set to the correct input you're using?

Yes it is. As I said, I've done this plenty of times before without issue.

With your PS3 powered down, try holding down the power button for 10 seconds, as that resets the display settings on the PS3.

EDIT: The PS3 should beep twice.

Note that this may revert the output from HDMI to the older AV connectors instead so you'll need to hook it up and change it back to HDMI if that's what you want to use.

I've tried using the AV connectors as well.

Does this reset any save files?

No, it doesn't reset save files. I've had to do it a few times and I haven't had issues with save files.
