How to change the extras of the police cars ?

Featured Replies

Hello to all,
I apologize in advance for my English, I'm using Google translate :-(

I downloaded this vehicle:
http://www.lcpdfr.com/files/file/12911-2014-lspdlapd-dodge-charger-pursuit-13a/

How do I make it appear with the extras? I get no lightbar and without many other extras, such as file I have to go and change to make it always appear with the lightbar and other extras ?!
I hope I explained thanks a lot ..

Through a trainer, or by modifying the vehicles.meta file, which I'm sure is indicated in the readme file of the car you installed :)

Unfortunately there is no readme.
The "vehicles.meta" files I tried to put the string "<requiredExtras /> EXTRA_2 </ requiredExtras>" so that it always appears with the lightbar but the game crashes .... I would figure out what to do.
Thanks for the answer anyway.

Go ahead and remove that required extras that you added so your game works. :)

You can use any trainer (I think), but I use Simple Trainer - https://www.gta5-mods.com/scripts/simple-trainer-for-gtav

If you use it, open Simple Trainer with "F3", and go down to "vehicle options."  Look for "Vehicle components".  These are the vehicle extras. :)

and then? I add those names to vehicles.meta files?
serves me that if I call the reinforcements arrive with the vehicle extras and not without anything as now happens.

No no, you don't need to edit the meta files at all if you just want to add/remove extras for that specific time you're playing. For the forced light bar every time, I actually have never messed with the forced components, but I think your issue is this:

<requiredExtras /> EXTRA_2 </ requiredExtras>

Copy and paste the one I've put underneath, it should work. Yours also has some spaces between the words and tags, so this should help.

<requiredExtras>EXTRA_2</requiredExtras>

Edit: Again, I've not forced extras before, that might be totally wrong.  There's a chance you need to use <item> tags.  I'm not sure, unfortunately.  If what I said doesn't work, we'll need to wait for someone more knowledgeable to answer.

Then I am waiting for someone who can tell me how to choose which extras must appear and which are not always.
Thank you

Oh there is, I took a screenshot of it

e9f482de30786c4c8ba6b076de5b0159.png

It's literally on the download page of the model, as well as in the download folder of said model. You have to read everything! :)

Bxbugs123 is a talented modeler, he wouldn't overlook something such as extra spawning :)

there is no "flags.txt" file in the folder indicated by him, nor anywhere else.

You're right, I tried so "<requiredExtras>EXTRA_2</requiredExtras>"   and now the light bar is always visible, how should I write to add other extra ?!
Example:
<RequiredExtras> EXTRA_1 EXTRA_2 EXTRA_3</requiredExtras>
thank you.

Oh, you're welcome! I'm glad I didn't break your game even more. XD

Unfortunately I cannot accurately answer that question.  My guess would be to add multiple lines.

<requiredExtras>EXTRA_1</requiredExtras>

<requiredExtras>EXTRA_2</requiredExtras>

and so forth.

What you could try, if no one else replies to correct me, is make a back up of your vehicles meta.  Create a temporary folder on your desktop, and drag and drop your meta file there.  Next, drag and drop the meta from OpenIV to your desktop and go in and try what I've put.  If it crashes your game, just replace that meta for the original one that you put in the temp folder.  This is how I've been practicing with metas and carvars (albeit slowly).

I have tried in these ways:

<requiredExtras>EXTRA_1</requiredExtras>

<requiredExtras>EXTRA_2</requiredExtras>

and

<requiredExtras>EXTRA_1 EXTRA_2</requiredExtras>

but unfortunately does not go....other ideas? Thanks

Unfortunately I'm not sure.  I would've thought the third way would work if the others failed. :/

There's a line in the vehicle.meta named "flags" for every vehicle, you can put the flag " FLAG_EXTRAS_ALL " to force that vehicle to always spawn with ALL available extras.

if that's what your asking, It fixes the vehicles spawning with no light-bar.

This will also appear the extras that conflict.  :-(

Thanks for the reply.

@mirko0134 If you are talking about LSPDFR, you just go to agency.xml, search the agency you want so that they use the vehicle, and set the vehicle you want, BUT you need to add something like this before the vehicle model name, in this case "police":

<Vehicle extra_1="true">police</Vehicle>

See, now the police car will spawn with the extra 1.

You can do this with all extras, but make sure to add the extra too and to set the correct number:

<Vehicle extra_1="true" extra_2="true">police</Vehicle>

You can also prevent extras from spawning with replacing the "true" to "false":

<Vehicle extra_1="false" extra_2="false">police</Vehicle>

You can set the extras 1-15 to true or false.

If you want to read it in an easier way, just go to the Technical Documentation of the LSPDFR site and find "Vehicle".

Hope this helps and have a nice day 🙂
