GTA IV Crashing a bit too often?

Featured Replies

Hey? Whenever I play LCPDFR on my PC, I get crashes on normal callouts for some reason, that I would never get on my old potato laptop.
The LCPDFR Error Reporter claims it isn't an LCPDFR crash, but only LCPDFR crashes my game, so I am suspecting I have an outdated version of something.
I get crashes I never used to on my old laptop, e.g. homeless people callout. I have attached some images to show my directory. I have tried using vanilla cars etc. but no avail. I have AI_ELS_SP turned off.

As a side note, the game ran stable for 3 hours with no texture loss, stuttering or crashes without LCPDFR. I am sure it's some DLL or script that might be causing it.

All logs and a different directory screenshots are attached below.
Now, usually I don't get much support (which I understand, people have lives, and this is a free service) but I would be overjoyed if I got the help of @LukeD, as he has been my saviour in the past and is very experience with GTA 4.

I have Large Address Aware, ProcessTamer to set priority of all IV .exe files to High.

You've way too many scripts running at the same time. Try removing all of them (except LCPDFR) and see if it runs better.

Thanks for the advice. Will try that out.

What? Ineseri replied to my thread.

It made the game a lot more stable, thanks. I will individually test each script now to determine the bad one. Thanks for your help bro! Really appreciate it - I can now play the game I love for endless hours...

I didn't have trafficflow ingame, and there were little to no taxis so I can take that out as well. It was a great script, but since I do not need it it will free up some memory

What OS are you on? On Windows 8 I crashed every 5 min (if I was even lucky to get to 5) on GTA IV, upgraded to Windows 10, never crashed once; I can play for hours. (I have 9 scripts)

Windows 10, didn't specify sorry. I am so flattered! I got the 2 pillars of the community on this!! Inseri's point above was a major help, I will test each script now. also loving windows 10, I ran the game for 3 hours without any crashes.

Weird, you have a really nice PC, should be more stable especially on Windows 10.

I'm not sure, I will try completely vanilla + lcpdfr and see the results. Thanks for the compliment bro! It's great to talk to a pillar of the community.

got a completely vanilla game, installed lcpdfr and put in my els cars, and the whole of my 'pc' and 'common' folders in. I didn't get a single crash. That means it's plugin causing it, i think the main focus is LCPDFR\plugins and LCPDFR.ini. Just so it's out there.

What also really helps is to disable ELS for AI.

Thanks for the reply bro ! I already did that. I removed all scripts and plugins but still crashing gonna try something new

I think it's LCPDFR.ini. If you look in lcpdfr.log I am getting lots of ReadSettings: Invalid Entries

I really can't fix this and I have tried everything that anyone or me could ever possibly think of!!! I have attached the most recent logs :((

I wonder what this means? @FRGamer @ineseri

My apologies, I go absolutely mental when I get unfixable issues. You see I only have a few other games to play. I do understand it's a free service in this forum etc. sorry!

Uh oh - It was a script. That's just cringe.

Now it's down to testing each script. I'll leave here which script conflicts with lcpdfr, for others to use

the issue was finkone's script police orders
