Got it in one, I dunno, having ELS available and now working for me (damn you windows for blocking DLLS) I find it hard to use anything but ELS enabled vehicles.
Same was said for GTA IV.

If you are renaming a car mod (eg the vehicle says police and you want it in police2), I am assuming for this to correctly work you also have to change the vehicle name in the txt files?? Is there anything else?

No the actual models themselves. When installing new vehicle models and want them in different vehicle slots than what they already are if that makes sense.

Yes, just rename the files. Although, with some vehicles this can have issues on the handling.

I thought so. I think that was the issue I had before because I replaced all the files with my backups. Thanks but!! So you can just say, rename the handling line for police to police2 if you wanted yea??

You technically don't even need to copy and paste the handling line. When you make the new vehicles.meta, you can just leave the handlingId item pointing at an existing handling line (eg police3 if its a sedan, or maybe baller2 if its an suv).
