I don't think the Police did anything wrong, I think they did what they could given the situation, I just wish it could of ended with a better result for all their hard work and patients, anyway it is what it is, you would just think in this day in age something would be available

The only point of that event I criticise is placing the sniper behind 2 panes of glass, and (allegedy) one of them was meant to be bulletproof, so whenever he had a shot, he couldn't take it anyway.

Agreed though, military technology is advancing at a scary rate, you'd think perhaps they'd sink some money into making something useful for real world situations like this.

New Load Bearing Vests that are Bullet Proof

600th post, but also that video addresses the thigh holster?

A very good read, ex-HWP actually cars go for fucking cheap as shit considering their age and odometer, 17k for an 2013 Xr6 Turbo that's not even hit 100k?

Where and when do the shit these auctions happen, I need in.

Given.. They've been thrashed, but atleast you know they've been regularly serviced.

The load bearing vest are not bullet proof please understand that, im speaking from my own personal experience there nothing but a bit of mesh holding stuff so that the duty belt isnt so heavy.

Ok believe what you want but the NSW Police posted something like 3 Months ago about the new vests and they we're on the news but sure

They have the load bearing which officers have the choice of wearing it is helpful to some because it reduce's the weight of the duty belt and the same with the thigh holster some officers wear it to reduce weight on the duty belt (because its really heavy duh?). Now they also cary bullet proof vest in the boots of the car in case of an emergency and as you have probably seen they are lot more bulky and that because there designed to stop bullets where the load bareing vest is just mesh.

Hope that clears it all up

I stand by my words Daily Telegraph posted about the New Load Bearing Vests having Armor in it capable of Bullet proof protection

"NSW police will receive new super-light bulletproof vests capable of being worn under their uniforms while remaining undetected to the naked eye, the State government will announce today.

“We will be rolling out 14,000 Integrated Light Armour Vests, worth millions of dollars to provide a load-bearing vest capable of taking soft armour,’’ Deputy Premier and Police Minister Troy Grant will tell officers in a speech at the Biennial Police Association of NSW conference today.

A tendering process for provision of the light armour is set to begin almost immediately with the distribution of the finished vests eventually being rolled out in stages based on risk assessments for certain stations."

MMMMMMMMMMMM? yup

Mate listen your right in what your saying but its not called a load bearing vest, some officers choose to wear a light bullet proof vest what you are talking about there about 5-10kg and are a white colour i know this because i havea good friend who is a police officer.

You literally contradicted yourself with your evidence.

To my knowledge VICPOL load bearing vests have lightweight Kevlar plating in some parts of them. AFP also have ballistic vests that are now worn at all times on duty and have a webbing/strapping over them for accoutrements to be attached which essentially makes them load bearing ballistic vests. Theyre re also very cumbersome so it's not very practical.
