GTA V Launcher stopped working

Featured Replies

Hello,

Recently there has been an update for GTA 5, when I attempt to install the update it prompts me with a Windows dialoge "Grand Theft Auto V Launcher has stopped working" Ex: http://prntscr.com/bcbpqg. I've attempted the following to fix this issue, as of now they haven't worked:

  • Run in Windows 7 and/or Windows 8 compatablity mode
  • Run as administration (or unblock executable)
  • Re-installed the full last update of the game
  • removed all scripts/mods/additions/skins.

Has anyone else experienced this issue, I'll try re-installing the whole game if I have too, but I'd like to attempt to fix it before I wait another 4-6 hours for it to re-install the whole game. Also please note, I didn't install any new scripts, this simply just started happing when I attempted to update to the newest GTA 5 patch.

I had this too, on my old computer, since it was only a week until I got my new computer I just left it and installed it on the new one and worked, so yeah, reinstalling is basically the only option.
