Hi, guys,

I have spend a lot of time working on LCPDFR, and it's still not working. When pressing ALT+P nothing happens.

I checked my installation, it shows two things are having problems.

Ah right, that might explain some of the issues your having. It would seem you have an issue with DirectX, unfortunately I can't find a Download link for the latest version.

However if you go to the GTAIV directory located At:

C:/Program files(x86)/ steam/steamapps /common/grand theft auto IV/installers

you should find a folder called DirectX_Mar2009. In this folder should be the installation file for directX, it should be called DXSETUP), install this.

But it's still not working for some reason.

The issue is with scripthook not being able to find a DirectX file. I know I've asked you for the screenshots of the diagnostics tool multiple times but can you please re-screenshot but make the status column wider to show the whole error.

That's all I have when I run the diagnostic tool.

In the diagnostics tool, the columns can be stretched to make the entire content show. If you hover over the grey line between status and progress your cursor should change and you can click and drag to resize the column. Drag to the right to make it larger.

In the installers folder (mentioned previously) there is a folder called Directx_jun2008, in this folder there should be an installation folder called DXSETUP, try installing this then retry playing LCPDFR. I've searched the internet myself for fixes to this error and they all recommend reinstalling DirectX. Unfortunately I do not know where to find the latest version. As you said this is a fresh install of windows 10 you could try installing all the latest windows updates as I read somewhere the latest DirectX is included with these updates although i'm not 100% sure.

I installed that folder 2008, this error still shows in the LCPDFR diagnostics.

This is a long shot, but it won't hurt to try:

  1. Right click the start menu
  2. Open "Programs and Features"
  3. On the left, click "Turn Windows Features on or off"
  4. Click the check box next to "Legacy Components"
  5. Follow whatever else it tells you to do
