Vehicle Editing In Blender

Featured Replies

Is it possible to edit a vehicle in blender. I've been wanting to turn the rv into an investigation vehicle. Also want to put a light bar on it. Any ideas?

No you would have to create whatever parts that are needed, export them, import them in Zmodeler 3 and work from there.

Is Zmodeler the only software to edit vehicles in?

Yes properly without having to start all over and convert the vehicle back to GTA V because in order to edit the vehicle in blender you would need to export the vehicle(s) in a .3ds or .obj format which would remove all of the materials and other things.

Makes sense. I do like zmodeler but it cost money. when I got the free trial for zmodeler you only gave me 14 days but the problem is I'm still practicing so. Is there a way to get a free version of zmodeler?

What are you saying ? ...

You can make your model in blender or 3ds max,  detach each part  and name it correctly (P.S: bodyshell, chassis, bumper_f, etc.), texture your model, then export as .obj, that is step 1.

Then Step 2 is about importing the .obj into zmodeler, create the dummy nodes and place said dummy in correct position, you would also have to load .png textures and assign them in the materials that have been imported with the .stl file (so no need to rexture the model again).

So basically you can do everything in 3ds max / blender to make it zmodeler ready, then in zmodeler you'd just have to do some basic operations that would take up to a day or two.

Your solution is great. So back to the Zmodeler thing, I did some research on it and I can't find much. I want zmodeler so bad but is cost money. Not making a big deal or nothing. Do you know of a free version of Zmodeler?

Probably however Im not sure I pay for my zmodeler, you would have to look around on google or something to try and find a free version of it I guess.

Ok I found a free limited time version of Zmodeler 3 (3 months) witch is pretty good. A lot of research though. The one guy actually cracked the software so free. I don't know if you have zmodeler but if you don't have it I can send you a link to the page.

And always thank you for the help

Vehicle editing in blender

Just started working on a vehicle in Zmodeler . I took a little Sports sedan and imported it into zmodeler then i imported the "police2" vehicle. l and took the light bar off and put it on top the Sports sedan and deleted the rest of the police car it turned out great starting to edit the "Journey rv" trying to turn it into a portable investigation office.
