Ok so I am working on a couple of new models, and I have run into an issue that I cannot find a fix for. When I lose a door or a bumper the vehicle will be duplicated and stay attached to the object that has been lost. Any assistance resolving this or pointing me in the right direction would be much appreciated. 

I used to have that same issue, especially when my car explodes it duplicates. It's caused by a part you put on the car, what you have to do is unlink your parts and them put them on one by one and try them in game. Once you the car starts duplicating in game again then you know what part is causing it.

Is there any way to prevent that part from doing that?
