Hi there, I saw this First Response mod and I was amazed, it seemed too good to be true, but I have seen how many other users get it to work ,, so I know it's real!

I am new to the modding world and have some faults. I have tried to fix it myself but now my directory and desktop is so messy.

I'm asking for help from anybody who is willing to help :) It will be gladly appreciated!

yes, i am running the latest patch, i run everything as an administrator and this is not a cracked game.

System Specs:

3,4Ghz Intel i7 Quad Core Processor

16GB Ram

1GB nvidia GPU

24" LED Acer Monitor (if that matters)

Windows 7 64-Bit Service Pack 1

I've tried running the troubleshooter that is on this site, but it seems to crash midway through completion. I get these errors:

  • ASI Loader Not Found
  • C++ Scripthook FOUND but out of date

It used to just be ASI Loader Not Found , but I must have ruined something while I tried to fix it.

I only have a few vehicle mods on my GTA, but even after removing them , it still messes up.

As you see, my PC is not the problem. I am willing to do anything for help :)

Thanks Heaps in advance!

-Jay

I just tried doing that, yes, i deleted my current dsound.dll first before re-installing.

This is teh first time i got this error, which was during re-installation:

I think it's because I already have that xliveless thing, could you please help me remove them both?

If you already have xliveless on your game, just navigate to your games directory and delete "xliveless.dll", also, make sure you are running the game as administrator.

Turns out I don't have that in the directory, although I do have something called "xlive.dll"

What can I do ? Do you recommend me to uninstall EVERYTHING completely and start from scratch?

If you believe that will resolve the issue, i trust your opinion and i'll do it :)

Again, thank you for your help in advance

UPDATE:

I just uninstalled and reinstalled GTA IV.

I have NO mods on it. I installed LCPDFR with the dsound.dll

When I run the troubleshooter, it tells me that there is no ASI Loader found.

Should I delete the DSOUND.dll and install the XLiveLess one?

Despite no response (Which is perfectly fine seeing as it's 2:35 AM plus it's nice that i'm getting help anyways) I did what I suggested I do in teh above post *(Remove DSOUND and install XLIVELESS)

The troubleshooter says that everything is perfect and that it should play.

BUT when I launch GTA IV, it crashes right after the loading screen. any idea why?

I would gladly appreciate it!

Here is what the troubleshooter came up with :
