Hardware improvement for LSDFR

Featured Replies

Hi everyone

I am looking forward to upgrade my pc to run LSPDFR steady at 60 fps at max graphics settings with an ENB

I just wanna make sure I will not waste my money I currently have

AMD FX8320 OC @4.1

M5a97 r2.0

Corsair h80i Cooler

16gb HyperX Fury

EVGA 970 SSC

Corsair RM1000x

Next thing i am doing is getting a second EVGA 970 SSC in order to have enough VRAM (Right now with only one 970 i do around 35fps at high/very high settings with enb)

BUT

I am not quite sure if my cpu need improvement (I can't overclock more than what I have right now and I think it is due to my m5a97)

But one sure thing is that a i7 4790k would be better. Would this be a waste of money? Since it is a 500$ upgrade i wanna make sure it is worth it. If i dont change the cpu i will at least get a high end motherboard in order to overclock my cpu aroung 4.5

2 GPUS WILL NOT GIVE MORE VRAM. Hate to seem like I'm shouting but how it works is:
The memory is cloned across both cards so that they can both have what they want, 4GB seems to be plenty for V too.
Don't buy a 390 for '8GBs of VRAM', they don't have the actual performance to use anything near 6GBs, let alone 8GB.

Motherboards literally have no affect apart from making overclocks nicer performance wise, you have to find out whats actually causing your problem.

Get GPU-Z and look at the sensors, your eyes should be to see if its over 3.5GB, if is usage is pegged at 100%, if its at 95C. Or it may even be a problem with a CPU or another part.

My CPU is running at 70% and then GPU well now it doesn't go above 3.5gb of VRAM. I turned down the shadows to High and also turned off extended shadows. It helped i'm now doing between 45-60 fps. BUT i play on Vanilla and i still get the same performances.

Do any of you guys have a 970 and could share with me your average fps? I just wanna make sure i am in the specs.

Turn down your graphics a tad, mainly your anti-aliasing. I have a GTX 770 4GB and I get around 60-70FPS on high settings with VisualV installed.

Yes thanks It is way more stable that way. Its mainly when im on callout that I drop between 20-30fps. I guess that is more casual and acceptable!

I still think there is something wrong in my settings but its far better than it used to be! Thanks for help to all! It is probably the settings in Nvidia Control Panel because some options in GTA doesn't seem to affect the game at all when I switch them on/off. I have pretty much everything turned on in Nvidia CP.
