Nah, that's their way of spelling it - spelled the same way in both GTAIV & GTAV

Yeah DCP is right, it's spelt like that on purpose. 

It was exactly the same in San Andreas aswell.

If it was the same in SA, there's a fair chance it was to make vehicle names under 8 letters -- some old filesystems expect filenames to be at most 8 characters followed by an extension of at most 3 characters (and the SA engine was also the III engine, AFAIK).
