So i was watching the trailer for Mafi3 and thought it would be cool to have some FR mod in that game. I see a lot of opportunity with enterable buildings and the whole 60s era would be pretty cool. Also in general did the mod team ever think about using another game other than GTA? I know its early to discuss modability for Mafia3 but just as an idea, good or not.

In that case, why Mafia 3 and not Mafia 2 or even 1.

I just see some good potential in 3. Like the buildings. Its newer so im guessing more options. 

 

This mod team will most likely only focus on their efforts for GTA V. I guess there isn't any harm in discussing the most unlikely option ever. Mafia 3 could be close to impossible to mod for all anyone knows. LCPDFR started as a few scripts for someone's personal use and then evolved into a full on mod and team to go with it.

Mafia 1 & 2 are very difficult to work with compared to the Grand Theft Auto engines. Someone did make a free-roam mod for Mafia II if I remember correctly, but there was nothing to do in it so you wound up getting bored very quickly. The open map of Mafia 2 just didn't have as much "life" in it as the maps of GTA III, IV, V, etc. Mafia 3 may be different, and maybe the game engine they use will be more open to tinkering. Who knows.

Oh I'm aware of that, and I know it would be pretty much impossible or very very hard and time consuming to try and mod those games properly (even though the model swapping on Mafia 1 was actually pretty common), I was just questioning the OP's choice about a game that was not even released yet.

The one game I wish it was possible to make a First Response mod on would be LA Noire personally, but one can dream.
