    I have retail too. I've added the -verify to the shortcut and it's verified the files but hasn't updated.

    Yeah, and it actually verifies the files and says "GTA V is now ready to play" or something similar. But it remains the same. Sometimes it downloads the update, but then nothing happens after that.

    Have you tried removing the update.rpf in an attempt to "force" it to update?
