Hi, first of all, i'm david and nice to meet you guys! I'm over in Texas, huge RP fan with all sorts of games. I've been playing GTA for years and 4 is by far my favorite.

I'm also in a bit of a pickle.

I have been playing GTA IV - EFLC for a long time, and i purchased this on Steam. My GTA IV vanilla copy was disk and is long gone. (I can buy another copy, but i would like to figure this out first).

Basically, before anybody accuses me of being a "newb" or anything, please understand that i have done hours upon hours of research but i truly am a "newby" modder. I searched the guidelines, the "Key Guide", everything. If someone can help me out, i'd be so appreciated.

So basically right now, i have the vanilla copy on Steam of GTA IV - EFLC. Am i able to get LCPD - First Response mod for this? And also, vehicle mods? I know i may need to downgrade my game, etc. but i have read on other Yahoo! answers, etc. that EFLC are compatible with most vanilla mods. So could someone please clarify and possibly help me out with a step-by-step guide with links perhaps of what i need to download and or do?

If anyone could do this, i would SO appreciate it, or any help you may give me. I love RP and really, really want to participate and play along with this awesome mod along with vehicles mods. Please, and thankyou so, so, SO much in advance.

So first, run the installer. It will also install a few files (ASI Reader for example) that works for mods all over. An ASI reader lets you run the game with mods. First try the installer, and it will tell you what you need first. There are stickies in the Support section where you can find the links for what you need. I hope I made that clear, I don't think I did though. Some other people here may be able to elaborate on what I just said.

A lot of Script mods will not work on EFLC. But, LCPDFR will and so will other car mods.

Okay so, even on Steam i uninstalled my EFLC moments ago before i found this site because i had given up looking... so before i re-install 16GB with my slowish internet connection, could someone reassure me this mod will work for sure with EFLC on Steam version?

Yup, LCPDFR works on Steam versions, and regular versions of both EFLC and IV.

No, you will need EFLC patch 1.1.2.0 or something like that. Or, on regular IV, 1.0.7.0.

Just search google for the patch, click a link, download, and run the .exe.

As for the OP, welcome to the forums! If it makes you feel better, most of us on the Community Team and the Developers their selves use EFLC when enhancing the mod.

Yes my version updates to the latest on Steam like you said, so does this mean i won't be able to use it or what? It's a 16GB download which takes awhile with my internet speed, so i just want to be sure i know what all i have to do prior to putting my computer through that. -_-

It doesen't take hours to download, you could do it right now. You could probably do it all in 5 minutes.

I said i have to reinstall my EFLC first, and it's 16GB and about a 10 hour download with my internet speed. Fast computer but slow internet. :/ Gonna do that while im at work tomorrow then tomorrow evening or so after work, come and download LCPDFR. Will post back afterwards. Fingers crossed for a simple install! D;

It won't let me post in the other support section, but i got an "Installation Failed" and told me to copy/paste. Could someone tell me what is wrong? The installer said i have everything.
