Question About LCPDFR

Featured Replies

Hi, this is my first post here, but I have been a member for two or so months now. I am enjoying it here, and I love seeing what the modders put out on both sides, IV and V. My question is, is will you ever keep slowly updating LCPDFR for GTA IV players? I am still saving up for V, as I have other important finances to spend towards.

Also, is it possible to take GTA V scripts and maybe "re-script" them over to GTA IV? I love a lot of the mods there are for GTA V, and I thought maybe there was a way to mod GTA V things over to IV.

A lot(not all) of mods for V use new features though obviously even the K-9 script is available for IV(obviously though the dog replaces a skin model in IV). It depends on the script and the functions it uses.

I believe that LCPDFR 1.1 is the final update to LCPDFR, since the Development Team are much more interested in playing with the newer advanced engine. It's probably not possible to re script mods to work on IV, due to the differences in said engine.

Hi, congrats on your first post and welcome.

Regarding LCPDFR, the development team really only consists of 2 people, with input from various other staff members. We all have day to day lives and as such the devs can't focus their entire time on modding. The primary focus is GTA V, with LSPDFR being in it's early stages there is a lot to do. LCPDFR however spent a good 5 or so years now in development, it's highly unlikely any work will be made towards this for a while. but I'm not a dev, so this can be overturned very easily.

Regarding porting scripts, it's not that easy. Most developers here probably wont have written their plugins to be modular enough to port back to GTA IV, especially with V being more powerful and entirely different to write plugins for. We probably could, but it would take a hell of a long time for the majority. Again time that they may not really want to dedicate.

Thank you everyone for your answers, and they have helped my understanding a lot. First of all, I am also one of those people who have day-to-day lives, like balance school, my job and family time. Secondly, I don't know how to script, and I applaud those of you who do take time from your busy lives and make these awesome mods for us. I appreciate them and I love using them.

All of us have normal lives too (I think, lol)
