GTX 760 4GB GDDR5 for 170 euro, a good deal?

Featured Replies

So I'm thinking about buying a second hand graphics card with the sole purpose of playing GTA V with better graphics. I've found someone selling Gigabyte NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760 OC WINDFORCE 3X, 4096MB, GDDR5, 256bit for 170 euros, he bought it in December 2014 and the video card still has almost 2 years warranty.

I've seen a couple of videos of people apparently playing the game on very good settings with this card but I'd like to hear the opinion of someone who knows this stuff.

I also have a Intel Xeon W3565 3.2gb processor and 24gb DDR3.

EDIT: I just noticed I posted in the wrong section, I had multiple tabs opened and wrote in the wrong one (meant to post in Computers, Technology & Gaming).

Also the video card has already been sold, 5 hours after he posted the add so I'll have to look for something else.

You can try for a new R9 380 or a used R9 290.

Thanks for the reply, I didn't even consider buying a Radeon card before you mentioned those models. I ended up buying a R9 280x 3GB 384bits for 145 euros, anything newer and better was outside my budget. I have to wait a couple days to arrive but hopefully I will see an improvement in the pc performance.

Ok, I'll remember that next time.

I did a order mistake ones, and i for some reason ending up getting the GTX 760 PNY or some crap anyways i tested it with GTA V and for the price rage of it is not good if you looking to buy go for AMD 390 or GTX 980. then again you won't see much improvements on a R9 280x

I haven't bought anything yet, I talked to somebody about buying a R9 280x but the seller never sent the package. My budget is 150-170 euros so I won't find anything better than second hand R9 280x or HD 7970. I looked at quite a few benchmarks made by different gaming websites and the performance was satisfactory for these two cards. I don't expect miracles but the improvement would be significant over what I get now with my GT630 2GB card.

go with R9 280x my brother as the same card runs nearly on highest settings on gta v smooth apart from MSAA (off) but you still can run it on x8 AVG of 50fps or less but when the game first came out for PC r9 280 used to run maxed out with very nice frames sadly issues come out and makes the game unplayable for alot of gaming video cards so yeah go with R9 280x price seems to be dropped the last time i looked it up lol.

still i might be wrong all computers do not run the same depending on the CPU GPU motherboard & ram.
