So i start the game and play. after about 5 ish min the game crashes and a prompt comes up saying lcpdfr has crashed and must restart the game.

my pc can handle the game and has no probable loading. im running 8.1 windows and mad so i can run gta on my pc due to this old game not compatible with anything newer than 7.

Could use some help.

Windows newer than 7 are compatible, you need to change the compatibility setting to Windows 7 or Vista.

Check that You don't use Xlive.dll and Dsound.dll Files in the same time u msut use one of them

I had this same issue. It has to do with  AI emergency cars using ELS. In the els ini there is a line that says something like "AiSigleplayer = on" change that to off and that should fix your issue. Hope it helps!

AI ELS would only crash at the loading screen, not 10 minutes into the game. If you want to disable the AI ELS you can do so, but is not recommended as it will disable ELS for AI Police Vehicles.

The right line is:

Ai_Els_Sp = on
Ai_Els_Mp = on

You can change both of those to off, but I do not think this will fix your issue of it crashing every 5 minutes.
