Hi guys, i'm guessing this is the right place to post this.

I was a huge fan of LCPDFR on gta4 and played it a lot on my current PC.

However, i've been watching a lot of videos of the new LSPDFR ( great job by the way) and was wondering if someone could please tell me if my current PC would be able to run gtaV or should i wait until my next computer.

Specs :

Intel(R) Xeon(R) 2.33 GHz COU - 5140

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 650

RAM 3072MB RAM

Please ask if you need anything else.

I'm not too hopefull as i know it's a bit of a potato, but please any advice would be muchly appreciated

Thanks Very Much!!!

This specs support GTA V

And u can Play LSPDFR/LCPDFR Normally

Respect Efforts

it might run GTA V, although it's not going to run great.. 2.3ghz processor and 4gb RAM, it may get into low-medium settings, although unlike GTA IV the PC version has better optimization so you can change the settings to make it work.

Also, if you haven't, download Razer Cortex and use the game booster. it'll cut out any unncessary background programs so you can play our game with ease (i've been using it for a year now and it works great!)

I'm quite happy using low settings, however i would be interested in downloading some mods for LSPDFR, do you think this would work ok? Obviously no enbs or any texture mods apart from maybe one of the police vehicles.

I appreciate your help on this, as i am in love with this mod i think it's fantastic.

I already have the game booster but thanks, is there any certain settings you would recommend me to change to optimise my game play?

Thank you.

1 or 2 script mods will work ok. an ENB and texture mods won't work.. but 3 script mods should work.

I do suggest buying the game from Steam (if you haven't bought it), as you can run GTA V and if it doesn't work you can request a refund (IF it's under 2 hours game time). The only problem i see with your computer is your processor.. it's 2.30 whereas minimum requirements is a 2.40, you may experience slowness if it runs.

at first i suggest you putting everything on low (even the vehicle/ped density).. then have a bit of a mess around seeing what you can change (boost up textures a bit, apply see if it lags etc). You may be able to get things to medium as it's only your processor that doesn't meet the requirements. i really couldn't say as every PC is different.

But i do suggest going the Steam option, as you can refund it if it doesn't work.. or keep it and upgrade your PC (if it's a desktop and not a laptop)

Oh ok, i see. Is there any reasonably priced processors you would recommend yourself just in case it doesn't work, i would be willing to upgrade that to be able to play the game.

That's a good idea, however the only problem with that is my internet is hideously slow. Do you only get one install for the boxed version then? If so i suppose i should buy the steam version. Is it much different in terms of adding script mods? As i am familiar with the disk game version.

I really thank you for your support and help.

Do you already own GTA V on PC?

I wouldn't be able to give you a price on processors because i don't know the board you have (if you know it then please list it). If your internet is slow, then i'd stick with the disc version.. if you plan on upgrading your PC anyway it wouldn't matter if it's steam or disc (i suggested Steam just in case it didn't work then you could get the $70 refund for the game).

In terms of script modding, they're the same. for other mods (like textures) the disc version requires a mods folder (easy to setup so it's not difficult).

EDIT: after doing a search on your processor, i found out your processor is literally antique, so no boards on the market will be able to support it. So for an upgrade you'll need an upgrade your board and processor. (and possibly your RAM depending on MHz) if you give me a maximum price, i could have a look for a board and processor for you.

Ah, considering it's 'antique-ness' (Yes that's now a word) does that change your opinion on whether my PC would run the game? I'm from the UK if that changes your ability to check out some boards and processors for me. I'm unfamiliar with the prices for such things, so i don't feel as if i can give you a maximum price. However, if you could give me a few suggestions that would be very very helpful.

Thank you so much for your help, i didn't really expect such a kind response as what you have given me.

It doesn't change my opinion. i still say it should run on low settings as it's just your processor that doesn't meet the requirements. Although it is wise to upgrade as your processor and board is about 6 years old now.

Well for a good processor it costs around $300 and the board is about $100-$200. so if you have the money to upgrade i'd go for it.

Processor 1 - http://www.newegg.com/global/uk/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819117369 (it is a great CPU, i own this myself and i love it.

Processor 2 - http://www.newegg.com/global/uk/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819117372 - It's a cheaper processor, and is great for gaming (most gamers use this processor i believe.

Motherboard - http://www.newegg.com/global/uk/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157501 or - http://www.newegg.com/global/uk/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813132125

If you're not familar with PC building, i'd suggest you message the guys at newegg and see if they can attach the processor to the motherboard before shipping, if not then your local PC shop should do it (although it'l cost you some money)

Those are all very expensive CPU's. An Intel 4460 would suffice perfectly and get an average Z97 board or if you are really on a budget, a H97. With this, you'll also have potential to upgrade to an higher end model later if you ever want to as they use the same LGA socket. The graphic card is somewhat limiting but depending on how much you can spend, just leave it for now.

$190 for the CPU

Mobo is 85 bucks plus a 10 mail in rebate so 75.

This combo is great for just gaming. Also, I would FOR SURE get new RAM. Ram is super cheap now so if you can shell out for this kit, 100% worth it as all new games need 8GB of RAM to run smoothly.

Wow, thank you all for your help. I tried running the game with the lowest possible settings on my current PC, however there was about a five second lag every two seconds (not playable unfortunately lol) So i'm thinking of just buying a new computer. I'm from England, and there was a few I've seen for around £450 which seem to be over the minimum requirements. What do you guys think, should i just do that?

Thanks again for all of your help. I can not wait to start playing!

like aabove, don't buy a prebuilt. Honestly, you won't get a good gaming experience if you buy pre built. You can build a decent rig if you are in the UK for around £550-650. Depends on how much you are willing to futureproof/spend.

Should probably upgrade to a 750TI you can find them relatively cheap now and it should definitely set you in the right direction for GTA V. Otherwise be ready to play on very very low settings.

Why? A 650 isnt the weakest thing out there. His 7 year old CPU and his RAM is probably more of a concern tbh.

Didn't notice his CPU specs. I doubt that CPU could even load up GTA..

Haha, it was very optimistic of me I do admit. It ran GTA 4 well, guess I'm super lucky it did that. I am looking at some prebuilt computers, when I find one I want I will definitely post the specs for some advice, thanks so much guys. I'm not confident enough with computers to build my own rig to be honest.

Looking to spend around 1K so if anyone has any recommendations of what the prebuilt should have for that money, or any examples that would be awesome

Building your own isn't that hard.. it may look confusing, but it's really not. For me, when it comes to computers i deal with the software and my mate builds them.. however when i transferred cases to my current one, i decided to build it and it was easy. the only thing i suggest not doing is the CPU onto the motherboard, pay someone to do that.
