Question about procedure

Recommended Posts

Just wondering for RP purpose in LSPDFR, does anyone know what the procedure is when you are driving a suspect to detention? Siren on? Lights on? Normal speed while applying traffic regulations or it is still considered an emergency and you can run the red lights? :ninja:

Thanks in advance.

No, no, yes. When transporting a suspect, for example a theft suspect, officers abide by the usual traffic laws,

The only exception would be the transportation of a suspect from one jail to another, specifically a high risk suspect. (although usually the transportation is accompanied by a convoy of assigned officers).

Hmm, I usually drive normal when it's just a stolen vehicle for example, and they get arrested with no trouble. If they want to run away I drive like a maniac with siren on, or if they wanted to kill me.

Did I help? If I did, you would help me if you would help that like button :)

That's pretty much what I was doing. I usually have my lights on while keeping my speed in check for the minor offenses and I use the siren for the most dangerous suspects (as well as the ones that pissed me off).

Thanks for the information. I guess I'll stop putting on a light show on my way to the jail

In real life there is pretty much never a time when an officer would take someone to jail lights and sirens and most agencies have a policy against running lights in sirens for any reason while transporting a person (suspect or otherwise) in the vehicle. Taking someone to jail with your lights or sirens on is something that is only done in movies and TV shows. That being said, it is a video game, you can do whatever you want.

"High Risk" is more than likely going to be handled by the United States Marshall Service

US Marshals only transport federal prisoners.

Given that high-risk state prisoners can be transferred to federal prison, I suspect the USMS handles some high-risk state offenders.

According to their website they will transport state prisoners if they are indicted in a federal case and have to be transported across state lines. They will also transport prisoners at the request of a customer as long as the customer is will to pay all expenses related to the transport, which I'm sure very few agencies want to spend money from their budget to pay federal agents to do a job they can pay their own guys to do.
