The Magic "E" Key

Featured Replies

Hi!

Tried to use the computer while in the car using the "E" key ... it works great.

But the "E" is also the light/siren in my game. As you might imagine, this does not mix well. I don't *think* my "E" is specified in another plugin ... Am I missing something (being stupid) or what? I think "E" has always been lights and siren for me.

Thanks for any insight.

Its possible the key binding for the standard game has changed, as it should be "H" to turn lights/sirens on/off and to honk horn, and "J" with LSPDFR installed to turn off the siren and leave the lights on.  Otherwise there is another mod interfering with the key binding.

"E" was default horn/sirens for me as well. I just went into the key bindings menu and changed it to a button on the side of my mouse. Honestly, it's a lot better having it there. When I blow through intersections I can change the cadence much easier! Hope you got it squared away!

We'll see what we can do about this.  Personally, I use G as the siren key anyway in keeping with GTA IV.

Thanks, Sam - I am not sure if E is the default for lights/siren. I did re-map the key for the in-car computer to an obscure mouse button and that seemed to fix my issue (now siren and computer function separately), but it's odd using a mouse button for that. I'll find another key. I just wanted to see if it would work.

I use Lights and Siren script http://www.gta-mod-center.com/forum/index.php?/files/file/486-lights-and-sirens-script/ because I like to use lights and siren separately (sirens very sparingly). Never used whatever default key it was ... While this script doesn't use E for lights/sirens, I guess I have some script that is mapping E to lights and siren? I'll look. But I am pretty sure I am not.

I did notice something else weird ... I use "F" to enter/exit the vehicle. When on the computer typing in a license plate with the letter "F" in it, I would exit the vehicle while the computer was still on. That's annoying.

Also, when activating lights with the LSS (see link above), I could get out of the car, do my business and get back in without the sirens automatically activating when I got back in the car.  With the latest beta of LSPDFR, the siren always activates when I get back in, no matter what key/script I used to activate the lights. I am not sure if this is a script issue or what ... just throwing that out there.

Where i can change the key bindings? Btw everything works fine for me, even with all the plugin's which i've installed. No issues, no crashes! Great work.
