Local Michigan Police Sheriff (WIP)
Ugly_American09 replied to Ugly_American09's topic in Vehicle Modification Showroom
Hey Lundy, thanks for the constructive comments! Yes, it is my first time at editing and creating skins for vehicles. I definitely understand and considered what you said about making the lines meet with the lamps, it's something that bothers me as well to be honest. But all of the reference photos I have show the lines pretty much exactly like I have on the model -- under the lamp. Haha, they may need a new graphic artist? But I'll definitely trim them up a bit! Thanks again, Ugly -
Gents, Decided to throw together some skins for my local law enforcement. I present Grand Traverse County Sheriff's Department. Three skin variations for a 2008 CVPI -- a traditional white skin, white skin with Garfield Township and Sergeant, and a black skin. Lastly, I made a skin for a 2011 Dodge Charger. Let me know what you think! These haven't been uploaded FYI. -Ugly

Hey Don! Way to go! I started working on my own MSP uniform earlier today to go with your amazing Charger. This is perfect! Only hope we can eventually add the cherry top and roof signage. May I give a couple suggestions for the uniform? I personally used the cop as the template because the MSP badge I made easily replaced the original. I tried the sheriff but the badge was all messed up. I also added the whistle lanyard on the right shoulder and also added the MSP and post number collar tabs. I had a hell of a time with the shoulder patches but it appears you nailed it sir! If you would like to work on using the cop template, I can send you over the .dds of the badge to incorporate in. Just ask for a mention in the credits! :P Also, to my knowledge, unless they're in dress uniform the side pant lines are solid black without the yellow line. Correct me if I'm wrong... PM me if you'd like to work on it further. I've added a screen of the one I did earlier today below for reference. Nice work! Ugly

Location for Cop Hat to Edit
Ugly_American09 replied to Ugly_American09's topic in GTA V Discussion & Media
Thanks for the reply guys. The pedprops location and s_m_y_cop_01_p prop hat is where I edited the file in the first place. I know that the badge will likely be weird because of the way it's mapped or whatever in the game and I have no idea how to edit a file like that (or even if it's possible). Here's the texture that I attempted to replace, but it still shows up as the original cop hat in-game. I thought maybe the hat was in another folder that's overwriting this one possibly? Hmm... Scratching my head on this one... -
Hey guys, Since DetroitDon and NikoTheBellick released a couple awesome vehicle skins for the Michigan State Police, and I live in Michigan, I thought I'd try my hand at creating my first ped texture for an MSP trooper. I have a bit more tweaking to do with the colors of the tie (too bright) and the pants (a bit too dark). I also need to try to figure out how to edit the cap for the cop and also adjust the patches and try to do a better res one. Here's a couple photos of the trooper! Thanks to DetroitDon for the amazing MSP Dodge Charger pictured. Awesome stuff!

Hey guys, Currently working on a ped texture for a Michigan State Police trooper. I have a bit more tweaking to do with the actual texture and was wondering what the location was for the cop_01 hat? I thought I found the right one, but it doesn't appear to change the texture or badge in-game. This is my first time attempting to do a skin! Thanks for your help! I've attached a couple pics of the MSP trooper I'm working on currently. A special thanks to DetroitDon for making the vehicle skin for the 2015 MSP Dodge Charger seen in the pictures! :D Ugly

Organized Callout Suggestions
Ugly_American09 replied to deliberent's topic in Discussion & Suggestions
Awesome. This brings in another aspect of LSPD:FR, which is firefighting. Something I would absolutely love to see on a more official basis in the mod. What is California known for more than Arnold and Hollywood? Forest fires! I've been a firefighter for almost two years now, so I've had a few wild fires in my young career. There would be nothing cooler than hacking away at the ground making ditches or even charging a hose line from a tanker or engine in-game. Calling in an aerial tanker and watching it drop red retardant on the fiery hillside in the middle of the night. You could even give wildland firefighters Indian packs, or backpack water extinguishers to haul around. Fire spreads over grass quite easily in game. I'm sure there's a way to make the flames bigger and smoke thicker! -
Organized Callout Suggestions
Ugly_American09 replied to deliberent's topic in Discussion & Suggestions
Nice list. I was just thinking about posting a lot of similar ideas! Especially the domestic disturbance calls, shooting in progress, and standoffs. Really good ideas. Hope to see them implemented in the future! -
Have you guys simply tried rebinding the "E" key from the GTA escape menu? That would essentially assign the horn/sirens a new key and leave "E" for the computer.

LSPDFR 0.2 Crash on requesting backup
Ugly_American09 replied to smearieryeti's topic in LSPDFR 0.3 Support
Are you using ScriptHookV and any scripts? What plugins are you using if any? -
I had a similar issue and removed ScriptHookV, all the files that use it like PLD, and all associated files w/ ScriptHook (nativetrainer.asi, etc). I even dropped PoliceRadio.dll from plugins. I think PoliceRadio is wonky with the new release. Works fine for me now, but I noticed if I start LSPD:FR with Fraps running it crashes sometimes as well. Have had to either run Fraps after playing for a while or use OBS. Hope this helped!
-
"E" was default horn/sirens for me as well. I just went into the key bindings menu and changed it to a button on the side of my mouse. Honestly, it's a lot better having it there. When I blow through intersections I can change the cadence much easier! Hope you got it squared away!

Um... WTH just happened?
Ugly_American09 replied to Ugly_American09's topic in GTA V Discussion & Media
Thanks guys! Got it all working and converted over into mods folder using OpenIV. Only issue I'm having now is that because I have mods that utilize ScriptHookV it no longer works w/ Rage Hook. LSPD:FR 0.1e does not load and the F4 button brings up a trainer only... Sometimes even when I load Rage Hook on start up it just crashes GTA V. FML. I'm guessing from what I've seen posted elsewhere this is not new and is affecting a lot of people. Will it be addressed in the upcoming release? Anything I can do in the meantime just so I can play LSPD:FR? I haven't found a fix that's worked yet... -

Hey Verry, thanks for the quick reply. Should I revert my GTA V folder completely back to its unmodified state before doing what you suggest? Can I leave what mods and plugins I already have there or were all of those affected too? Thanks -
Okay, so this morning I decided to set some time aside to get the latest LSPD:FR mod and others set up in GTA V. I used to play the old LCPD:FR on GTA IV and loved it, so I thought I'd conform to the latest and greatest. Anyways, I installed 0.1e and the police radio mod, tried it out and worked flawlessly. I then took the time to use OpenIV and install some vehicle textures, light mods, searchlight capability, a new siren, etc. All seemed well until I started GTA V as admin and was about to load up RAGE. I have the non-steam PC version and right when it opened Social Club it says I need to install like 5gbs. So it starts installing... 4 hours later... I go to play GTA V with all these new mods and textures and they're aren't any... The "patch" or whatever the hell it downloaded wiped everything clean off and reverted them back to their old vanilla textures. I went into OpenIV and sure enough, everything was reverted back to their old textures. LSPD:FR is still there and the other plugins I have still show up. It's only the textures I think that reverted. So, I went back and used Open IV to put them all back in there. I go to load up GTA V again and it starts downloading the 5gbs AGAIN! From scratch! What the heck is going on? Am I doing something wrong here? What on earth is this? Incredibly frustrating... Sorry if this is a repost or already known issue. I've searched the forums and the net and can't find anything about this... Thanks, Ugly
