Banned for using mods!

Featured Replies

I'm pretty sure hes not talking about someone defending themselves when they have trolls surrounding you, but instead that person trolling someone with constantly killing them with god mode making it more aggravating because that other person has god mode. Plus #privatelobbies. If you can't handle the other people in a lobby, go in a private one. There are people who do join games that don't want to troll or be trolled, and people having mods can ruin their experience, negative or not. Just my two cents.

He's obviously targeting it at me and assuming i'm one of those guys who kills entire servers. I only enable god mode when the other people come out to "play". I'm not one of those guys going around trolling in god mode.

  • Nice to see Rockstar serving justice on someone using a skin modification, but not on users killing everyone in the map with an invisible explosion.

  • None of the released scripthooks even work online! By using these modifications online, you'd need to use a modified version of the scripthooks. Entirely your fault if you get banned.

Did I spawn 3million dollars because of them? No, no i didn't, I had the money spawned on me by some fella who expects me to deposit it into the "bank" so Rockstar detects a large amount of money at once so I can get auto banned for 2 weeks.

This is actually not true. I experienced the same problem, and contacted R* support to get an answer, this is what I got from them after a couple days:

Alex K., May 18, 09:31:

Hello Hystery,

We sincerely apologize for the delay and the automated response sent from our end.

Thank you for the cheater report. We appreciate your cooperation in helping to keep GTA Online fair for all players, and will look into this.

We would like to inform you that you will not get banned for this. Please be rest assured and enjoy the game.

If you have any further evidence to submit, such as screenshots or videos, you can attach these directly to this ticket or provide a link and we will be glad to take a look. If not, you do not need to do anything further, as we will investigate based on the information you already provided.

Best regards,

Alex K.

But I do agree that mods online should be followed by an instant ban, no matter who is using them. Even if my best friend was using some, I'd not defend him. Using mods online DO ruin the game experience of other players, whether you want to admit it or not.

A cheat is still a cheat even if nobody recognises you. When I'm driving 140 in a 60 zone and nobody gives me a ticket it's still a traffic felony. Doesn't really make it better

That's if you report the problem about the money. If you don't, it'll most likely be detected as hacked money which will then issue a ban.

I agree with what you're saying, i'll still use whatever i really want. If I get banned for them, it's my fault and my own choice. Even if I don't take it out on other players to intentionally "ruin the experience". It just annoys me how people always seem to think, "Oh, you're a modder/hacker. You must be the lowest form of life on the online community." But, not much i can do on that.

So what if somebody wants to mess with you? Then get out of that server and join a new server. If i decide i want to drive around my Kuruma all day chasing you around trying to kill you, that still don't give you the right to enable godmode and hope for payback. The other guy might be bad for wanting to mess with you, but you are just plain worse if you think that it's a good idea to cheat to try to win.

What this guy says. And that doesn't count for the trollers, i'm hoping that's directed towards the cheaters. Don't fight cheating with cheating, that's just escalating the situation even further.

Yeah, that only works so far when 90% of the servers have at least one of these guys. I never said anything about "payback", i just don't want to be ran over and shot up by these idiots. I don't want to have to keep switching servers every 10 minutes. Sure, it's not against the "rules" to drive around in the Kurmas or Insurgents blasting people away, but it gets to the point where it annoys the shit out of me since if i do anything to them, i'll end up having to pay 10k to pay for their car being destroyed which does almost nothing to affect them, or i'll just get thrown into a "bad sport" lobby. I'm not trying to "cheat to win" in anyway at all. I just don't want these idiots spamming me with their over powered armoured vehicles, or worse, online troll trainers. If you want to call me out and call me a total asshole and worthless cheating hacking noob 5 year old. Well, go ahead, you're not doing anything to affect it.

Now how about we both get back on to the topic at hand before this gets sanctioned and we both get into trouble. If you have some kind of major problem, tell me in a PM, but this isn't the place to whine about it.

They may have done, or Lund has been fortunate enough to not get flagged by the automatic system yet. I believe Rockstar uses a similar technique to the VAC system used by Steam.

GTA V has only been out on PC for less than 2 months, so I'm probably still on "hold". I don't think they could overlook the amount of reports that have been submitted for me changing my player model in online. Time will tell. I don't think I would've been flagged by the auto-system, but by the amount of reports. I do believe they'd need visual evidence of me doing what they say I've been doing in order to take some kind of action. Not a single person I've come across has told me they've "recorded" me. Usually they're quick to say, "reported" or "lol i reported u haking". But we will see.
