What car should I get?

Featured Replies

So I've been planning on getting my first car but I have many options to choose from. I really like the 2013 Chevy Caprice but I understand that they're are really hard to find in a civilian version. So I went online and checked out what was mixed to get the outcome of the Caprice. So mainly I'm thinking of getting a 2008/2009 Pontiac G8 but then I saw the Chevrolet Lumina which is available in Mexico. Even though I am in the U.S. It's hard to find a newer version which would I think 2008 or something. Do you think there's a way to get the Chevy Caprice (civilian) and Lumina from Mexico? Or do you think I should just stay with the Pontiac? Tell me what you think I should choose as my first car.

Yeah, Windows is great… I used it to download Linux.

  • By a bike.. Just do it. You'll never regret it. It's a chick magnet, and the feeling that you get when you know you can outrun that pimple faced prick in his burnt out ricer, that he put student loans

God no, anything but that trash.

  • That's the price you pay for unreal coolness.

I drive an Acura, and it's likely my favorite car i've had. (Driven a ford pickup, infinity coupe, and now this).

I vote go for a nice honda accord, what i almost got. Just depends on deals partially.

Nah, man.

Ok let me ask you one question real quick before we are warned to stay on topic: Have you ever driven the luxurious Ford Explorer ? From personal experience that thing drives like a freaking charm, holy shit.

Literally every car you've listed is Australian. Have you thought about importing direct from Australia? They'll all be right hand drive, though.

I've never thought about it. But that's obviously because I know that they switch stuff up over there in which I'm probably not gonna import it because of that reason unless they can magically switch it over to the left

I can see where you're going with performance, which is probably why most police forces chose that for their newer patrol vehicles, but I personally think it looks like an overachieving "soccer-mom" van. You could say the same with a Lamborghini but visual opinion can have the same amount of effect as the performance of a car.

Depending on your state/federal laws, you may be able to get away with a right hand drive anyway. If not, you could always have it converted to US format (at your extra expense, though).

Mmmmmm.. What a sexy little bitch.... I bought a used ninja 650 for around $2500 3 years ago, and never regretted it.

The best way to shop for a car it to first layout your budget then decide what you want to do with it and what style of vehicle. (Daily driver,Sports car,Utility/truck, Straight up Race car, ext...) Considering it is your first car i`m guessing you need a daily driver. Not really sure if they sell Chevy Caprices in the states to civilians maybe you could find a ex police car but i doubt it since they are still new.I would steer clear of Pontiac there is a reason they are not a company anymore and the G8 is a huge contributing factor to that. Your budget for a first car seems way better then mine was back in 07.Ended up with at $1500 89 Ford Ranger that went threw more coolant then fuel.Heap blew up 6 months later.Stuck with Chevy Impala`s ever since. They are great.

The only problem is that I can't drive a bike in the snow

I can try to get the Caprice but I'll want the vynl and the florring gone because I just think it'll look horrible and I'll have to add a console to it so I can put drinks in there. I honestly don't want to do that so that's why I'm choosing the Pontiac G8 and searching for one. I actually found some around my area so I'm just going with that for now unless someone has a better car.

PS I might try to get a CVPI but not fully sure
