FTA:

Mafia 2 developer 2K Czech is reportedly helping Rockstar out with development of Grand Theft Auto 5.

It's been working on the game for almost a year, a source told VG247, helping produce animations for cutscenes and general gameplay.

This can't possibly be a bad thing

I just installed today Mafia 2 demo and I love it, the way of hand by hand fighting, the shootings are more intense, if both companies are mutually helping I hope that GTA 5 takes some of those things of Mafia 2. Also I hope they help Rockstar doing better police response, like in Mafia.

Oh em gee ...

Albeit I still call for a full combination of the police, traffic AI and combat mechanics Mafia 2 had, with the open world, story and GTAIII vehicle missions from the GTA franchise ... this is a step in the right direction, hopefully.

With the Mafia graphics and GTA gameplay GTA V will be one of the best games already produced and it will probably beat CoD selling record

Mafia II has way worse graphics and a way better story compared to GTA IV. That's at least my opinion.

Well then... If it's not going to be another piece of crap like Mafia II, I guess it's all right.

Also I hope they help Rockstar doing better police response, like in Mafia.

Honestly, police in Mafia II was much more worse than in IV for an example.

I don't think so, for example in GTA IV you just throw an officer to the floor and they tried to arrest and even to kill, in Mafia they ask you for ID and give you a warning; If you go speeding they stop and give you a fine, if you go with an gun in the street they arrest you, in IV you go with a RPG in the street and the cops just stay eating hot dogs.

Then the bribery, in GTA would be nice if you could bribe a cop if you have low start level, like in Mafia, instead of be arrested.

Those things like the fines, traffic stops, bribes and so I think would be a great complement to the new GTA.

Cops don't come after you in IV for speeding and such for technical reasons. Sure, it may be fun for the first few times. But when you're really in the middle of something it'll start to get really irritating - and fast. Same with carrying a gun and such.

Now, for the actual AI, specially their accuracy with guns is ridiculous. They can hit their targets with one or two shots, even if they're really far away. Also, it really requires some other law enfrocement units than just your typical police officers. Wouldn't it'd been awesome to see detectives or those early S.W.A.T's outside of mission during freeride? I definitely think so. They also lack the variety.

Weeeeell, the overall concept of the police in Mafia II was way, way better than it has ever been in the GTA franchise. Execution in some parts (AI combat, AI deployment, pursuit AI) was sub-optimal, yes, but traffic control, arrest mechanics, warrant mechanics are all points where Mafia II outdid GTA imho.

True. But I think focusing on AI more than some minor details is far more important. Although, now that they've got some base with IV, I'm sure V will have some even more advanced mechanics.

Yes, I do believe that there will be more interaction with the AIs in GTA5. Possibly the same in GTA4, just added on. I don't see why we must compare a game such as Mafia and GTA. For they are completely different games.

But I find this news more of as a rumor more than fact. For Rockstar had enough practice with GTA4 and RDR. You can tell how much they've improved by just looking at what they did with the MP, the AIs interaction, the way animations are flowed with player movement.

So to be honest, I don't think Rockstar would really go out looking for help when they already have so much experience. What I'm looking forward to, is the Mutliplayer. I can already tell Single Player is going to be fun as fuck. Just wondering what they will do in Multiplayer.
