What I heard from reviews and other people, laptop has shorter lifespan. Desktop's cooling system is better and it won't overheat easily.  Laptops are more expensive because of the technology needed t

That's how it generally works, but not entirely. Usually in a series, the higher the number, the better it is. Then, if there's a ti it's even better, but not as great as the next. For example, the G

Nvidia M series, AKA Notebook cards: http://www.nvidia.com/object/notebooks.html

Good luck with everything.

Ah yeah, I excluded notebooks from the search due to the notebooks not being able to achieve the same power as the laptops for what I was going for based on GTA V recommended settings. But so do you've anything else to suggest then or let me know about before choosing a gaming laptop? And as for my original, what do you think of that one? Do you think it'd run GTA V well enough? What is your input?

I'll just keep it simple. Unless you need the laptop for school and work you really shouldn't buy it. Before I bought my desktop I wanted the same thing. But laptops life expectancy isn't very good. Plus laptops lose value very fast. I mean your talking about dropping one grand plus for something that won't run GTA V High if at all medium. Now recommended settings, yeah you should be fine. But if I was you I would reconsider the gaming laptop idea as you would get more bang for your buck with a desktop. As you stated you don't really care if it can run pretty as long as it can run, which the laptop will do.

Ah it has been settled. I've decided to go with this gaming laptop instead of the one mentioned above. It is 970 which is able to run GTA V at high settings. 980 is 2K+ which is too much. This is the laptop i've decided to go with in the end:

Thanks to everyone who helped me with information regarding the different options that makes a gaming laptop great! It was much appreciated! Thanks again!
