Openiv siren+weapon sound errors.

Featured Replies

Hi,

For starters yesterday i posted a request about a different error and found it was caused by a siren, i replaced it and when i got into the game there were no gun sounds or sirens so i replaced them. I saw openiv recognizes these sounds differently to the other sounds, this has only happened after the new update for openiv.

Thanks.openiv_lcpdfr.thumb.PNG.7521b6eb5e17ddca

I should add when i start the game some weapon sounds play e.g. sounds play for some but not all shots from pistols. nothing for automatic weapons.

After replacing the sounds, make sure to press ctrl and R to rebuild the archive.

Have done, made no difference,I think. I'll double check tomorrow as am out for the rest of today.

EDIT- Am out but able to use a computer for this stuff.

My bad, it is not ctrl + R to rebuild an archive, it is ctrl+shift+R, if you do this in any folders that you have added in sounds or vehicles, it should reduce the errors they give/

OpenIV, for whatever weird reason, has lots of problems with sound files. I'd try using SparkIV instead.

I might, but sparkiv tends to refuse to start up on my pc. No harm in trying though.

Thanks guys, it's resolved now. It would seem i was stupid and forgot to rebuild.

EDIT- Damn, the game deceived me. It's not resolved at all.

*cries*

Be sure all of your SparkIV files are in a folder along with your SparkIV launcher.
