Weird Problem with ELS

Featured Replies

Hello folks,

I'm playing LCPDFR using carmods with ELS but I'm having some issues with that. I started with ELS v6 and if there are too many other vehicles with ELS on, the game will crash with SMPA60. All traffic disappears normally and the mod just does it's job but the game crashes when it has to handle alot of ELS cars.Turning of AI lights fixes the crashing, but I don't like it since all my EMS vehicles are ELS enabled. So I switched to ELS v5 but fixing one problem it creates another one. The game works fine without SMPA60 crashes even with AI lights on. However, spawned cars like backup and prisoner transport don't disappear from the game. Also the dispatched emergency services created by the trafficflow script don't disappear. This results in a deserted town with scattered abandoned EMS vehicles around the city but no regular traffic. It has nothing to do with LCPDFR since switching back to ELS v6 without AI lights fixes this problem. I'm hoping that somebody here can give me a clue of what to do.

You kind of answered you own questions right there. Don't mod too many vehicles especially ones spawned by LCPDFR or trafficflow. Those are "ambulance" "firetruck" "police" "police2" "polpatriot". By only modding cars that are not spawned regularly you are greatly reducing the risk of a crash.

At present there is no way to have lots of ELS enabled vehicles moving around all at the same time. The game gets overloaded and just shut down.

Well, the problem is that ELS v5 fixes the crashing, but leaves the town deserted with abandoned EMS vehicles scattered around. In fact (and I should have clearly asked that) I want to know how to get rid of that bug.

Use ELS v6 but don't mod loads of cars. Like I said earlier using to many ELS enabled cars will cause this.

ELS V5 was the first time ELS was able to set AIs to use the ELS lights. The bug was it would never set the police vehicles to be deleted, causing spam. Due to the spam, your game must prevent its self from crashing by stoping traffic spawn. Eventually you will crash due to the spam.

ELS V6 fixed the spam problem. Only problem it has, is because of the ability of deleting vehicles that use ELS, this could cause an accidently deletion and crash the game. ELS is not perfect, so you will expect errors. I still perfer V6 over V5 for I don't like the spam. You could always disable the AIs using ELS, would stop alot of crashing on your end.

Well, these are exactly the symptoms that I'm experiencing. So all there is to do is either shut down AI lights or live with the spam. Hopefully ELS v7 (if ever released) will fix both of these problems.

Pretty Much. From what I've heard there isn't going to be a V7.

I highly doubt version 7 will ever be out. For the author who created it left the modding scene.
