I really want to get into this game i really do but darn if it isnt difficult. With the multitude of patches ive downloaded i still cannot get LaunchgtaIV to update past 1.0.0.0. GTAIV.exe updates just fine but the launch wont at all. If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated.

LaunchGTAIV.exe doesn't change versions because it is just the launcher, not the game itself. Only GTAIV.exe will show as 1.0.7.0.

 

Also, if you own it on Steam then you don't manually install patches. Steam does it for you. If you just recently installed the game (meaning within the past like 4 years) then you are installing the newest version.

Indeed, the launcher was never updated by Rockstar.

Use this, it always does the update correctly, plus it's from Rockstar.

Appreciate it. For some reason my Steam version did not update the GTAIV.exe file when i bought it either but i finally got it figured out after forcing it to run the installer. Still a lot of kinks to workl out but im glad i now know that the launcher doesnt update, was getting a bit on my nerves (reading that it would need a complete reinstall to get it to work. Being i have DSL a 1 day DL wouldnt be very fun) but again thanks a lot
