Baby in Coma After Police ‘Grenade’ Dropped in Crib During Drug Raid

Oh no. Seriously? What about the poor baby?

It was an accident, they can't go in and start marking safe spots on where to place them. Then pull the pin, high-tail it out, then go back in.

Would you want to pay 1 million in medical bills for a mistake that wasn't your fault?

It's not like the officer intentionally did that. Hence it being a mistake.

If you have any kind of heart you are going to pay. Its not like she is asking for a handout for personal matters. Its a doctors bill the least they could do. Are they that black hearted?

Are you an officer? If so what if that were your child? I am almost certain you wouldn't have wanted to hear that. Especially if all you were asking was payment for the medical bills.

I already said, the police dept. should take care of the bills. Did you not see my post?

No I'm not an officer.

And if that was my child, I would be hurting on the inside. But I would know that it was an accident. And their intentions were not to harm my wittle baby.

Police pay the bills. It was an accident. Flashbanging rooms like that is safer for officers, you can't just take a quick peek into a room that could possibly have an armed individual inside. Plus, you can't surprise them, they're not deaf, they've probably heard the commotion in the house already, and if they were armed they'd be ready to shoot at any sign of movement by the door. And that's how a police officer takes a bullet to the eye.

You should not be doubting the procedures used by police at that time, there is quite a lot of pressure on officers in situations like that, and they might not have time to think 100% about what they're doing. Accidents happen. I'm not mad at this story now, but if the police don't pay the bills and make some sort of apology, I'll be mad then.

This. Imagine being the officer, knowing what happened. Also, flashbangs are safer for the bad guys too. And, if this was a drug house, what the heck is a kid doing in there anyhow? My thought sure wouldn't be "bad criminals in here, but don't forget about the wee babies and fluffy puppies". It is a terrible accident. The cops should pay. We shouldn't judge the officers decision or him as a person or officer. I'm gonna shush now.
