Can't get mod to start.

I have been trying to get the mod to work for 2 hours now. I have a legal steam version of GTA IV. I have installed the mod automatically and checked it with a manual install. When I press Alt and P in the game the screen gets blurry and nothing else happens.

Try reinstalling LCPDFR or you can try ust repleace AdvancedHook.dll and ScriptHook.dll from LCDPFR Manually install. Plus remember you have installed both .Net Framework 4.5 & Microsoft Visual C++ Redist 2012 !

Your ScriptHookDotNet is valid and it requires .NET Framework 4.0, the VS 2010 Redist (x86) and the latest DirectX 9.0c runtimes. Those can be found here:

Where would I find the advancedhook.log?

I have the net framework installed. DX 9.0 and C++ will not install as it says I have newer versions on the computer already.

Hello there -- welcome to LCPDFR.com and thanks for trying out LCPDFR.

You failed to read the instructions before posting in this forum. So we'll remind you of them.

Please do the following:

  • Make sure you aren't using a crack - We don't support cracks
  • Update GTA IV to 1.0.7.0 (the latest version of the game, or 1.1.2.0 for EFLC) - This sometimes fixes a wide variety of issues
  • Make sure that you run the game as an administrator.
  • Make sure that your GTA IV root folder (and every subdirectory) is not set to "read-only"
  • Ensure that ScriptHook.dll, ScriptHookDotNet.asi and Dsound.dll OR Xlive.dll are in the GTA IV ROOT folder
  • Ensure that there is a folder titled 'LCPDFR' in the ROOT GTA IV folder.
  • Check that all the above files exist, if they do not, reinstall LCPDFR with the MANUAL installation.
  • Ensure that you are using up to date versions of every LCPDFR dependency and LCPDFR itself.
  • Install these: .Net Framework 4.5Microsoft Visual C++ Redist 2012

If not, please now reply to this thread, and make sure that you do the following:

  • Give a clear, detailed description of the problem.

Ok. I ran the tool and saw that the advancedhook.dll file is corrupted. I have tried redownloading the manual install and pasting that file in the root directory., It still tells me that advancehook.dll is corrupted. Can someone help me here. I am pasting the log file from the tool.

Go into your settings and keybind the P to another key like the minus that isn't used then go into game and try to start it up. Hope this helps you mate. =)
