Is a 600 watt power supply good enough for my specs?

Recommended Posts

The minimum for that card is a 550W Power supply. Make sure you buy a good branded PSU such as Corsair or Antec and do not buy a crappy $20 as they are more likely to blow up instead.

My friend bought a el cheapo PSU and within 3 days it actually blew up and took his hard drive and graphics card with it.......

I plan on buying the Corsair gaming series 600-Watt ATX CPU power supply. And one more question, Is installing a new power supply as simple as just taking off the cover of your case, unplugging all the cords from the power supply to motherboard etc, and replacing it with the new power supply?

Usually Yes....

Cable management can often be a pain though.

I honestly can't think of any reason why you would have any problems......

Good PSU choice btw.

@Neo, It's always better to buy the highest wattage you can as it will save you money in the long run when you want to upgrade.

Are you using one Radon HD 6870 or two in crossfire? If you are using the former, 600W is enough, but if you are using CrossFireX, then you'll need a higher PSU wattage.
