I don't know how to do this. I try using Xpadder but I don't know if I'm doing it right...

 

 

I'm trying to assign J to DPad Left and G to DPad Right.

 

How do I do this?

It is right, and i've tried the same, and it doesnt appear to be working for me, I do know you have to keep it up. Is that a XBox One controller?

Yes it's an Xbox One controller. I downloaded the drivers for it. It does work. I have also tried a 360 controller as well and whenever I push the Dpad L or R, it just changes weapon on foot and nothing while in a car.

Same with me, Im not sure, although I know my Controlelr works

 

Get a wired controller, just plug & play. I use an Xbox 360 Controller that's wired, never had to download anything, also, make sure direct input is turned ON in the main menu of the game.

I'm only using Xpadder for ELS 8. The controller plays the game fine.

The game will not recognize customized controls unless you turn on direct input. I think you might also have to assign all of the other buttons as well, but maybe not.

 

Edit: Or maybe direct input has to be off, not sure.

I want to use ELS keys on my controller's DPad...

I got a free program called Glovepie. I made a script for it and boom i can use els with my 360 controller!
